We were so excited to experience the Italian countryside! I am noticing all the reviews were from 2015 and before. It has obviously deteriorated since then. We were dropped off by the driver they provided in to the "italian twilight zone"! There was NOT a welcoming family...just one woman. She begrudgingly fed us lunch since we arrived at 10 in...

It is hard to describe in words how special my day was with Assuntina and her family at Fontana del Papa. My friends and I (we are a group of six in total) work on a cruise ship that docks in Civitavecchia, and I stumbled across the Fontana del Papa website while looking for cooking classes in ports that our...

It is an intimate experience. you feel like you may have stepped out of one of Shakespeare's plays set in Italy. Even the animals have a bit of magic to them. The kitchen is warm; whether a beginner or someone with cooking experience, you come away having learned and having fun. I have been twice, once alone and once with...

If you are looking for an authentic farmhouse experience, this is your place. Assuntina is a force of nature and, with her family, turned a monastery ruin into a home. They invite you in to share their lives, learn to cook local dishes, using locally sourced foods, many grown on the premises and visit local treasures. Bagnarello natural hot springs...

We have just arrived back from the most amazing four days at Fontana del Papa. As I said in the title, words really cannot do this place the justice it deserves but I'll give it a go! The owner, Assuntina, was welcoming from the very start, picking us up from the airport and filling us in on the plan for...

Difficult to know where to begin - this is the most beautiful place, a bit like a Disney movie come to life. A gorgeous 16th century farmhouse, lovingly restored and run by Assuntina and her daughter Emma, who produced lovingly home cooked meals and generous carafes of wine and selected Italian digestives (much needed after fabulous and substantial dinners). You...

My sister and I just got back from celebrating her 50th birthday with a cookery weekend at Fontana del Papa..It is a breathtaking 16th century farmhouse with spectacular views all around just one hours drive from Rome airport. We were picked up by Luca the older son from the airport. He spoke English well and was very friendly and helpful....

We live in Paris and wanted our six-year old twins to experience the beautiful Italian countryside and food. Fontana del Papa was perfect for our family vacation as it was located just an hour from Rome, and set in pastoral paradise. We had amazing meals and relaxed on the sunny patio while the kids played hide-and-seek among the olive trees...

Beautiful home, surrounded by gorgeous property on Etruscan ruins. Unbelievable value for the experience. The family is so welcoming and warm. Can't wait to visit again! We ate in the kitchen with the family! It just felt like home.

What an incredible four days! Thank you Assuntina(owner/manager and our new friend), Emma( daughter and cooking teacher extraordinaire and our new friend) for a fabulous stay. We were led to Fontana del Papa by a connection in Vetralla and spent almost four days at the farmhouse B&B. We had planned three nights with two days of cooking. Since we were...

“I stayed in the Fragola room, which is nice in cooler times because it is beside the shared fireplace room and the kitchen is just down the stairs. Would be good if a family or another couple had the room on the other side of the sitting room.”

“Some rooms have shared sitting rooms. I stayed in the junior suite and it had a private sitting room and huge bedroom. However, don't be too concerned about the room, because you can relax outside as well.”
