#3 of 3 in Sao Martinho do Porto
The Hotel Santo Antonio da Baia is situated in the famous village of Sao Martinho do Porto, just 600 meters from the beach and 350 meters from the historical zone. It features 22 comfortable bedrooms, all with private bathroom, led tv, telephone, wi-fi, safe, heating and, some of them, pleasant balconies. The establishment, which offers buffet breakfast and parking service, also has a cozy bar and various rooms for banquets, parties and exhibitions. Land of cistercian monks in the Middle Ages, shipyard during the Age of Discovery and summer resort of the royal family in the Contemporary Period, Sao Martinho do Porto is now a village that combines tradition with modernity. Around its shell-shaped bay, where the sea and earth come together in a unique landscape, we get emotions on water sports, asadelta, walking, cycling or on equestrian; on the gastronomy and confectionery flavors; and from the contact with the historical heritage. To upgrade the tourist offer, thinking of our customers, we have established a set of sporting, cultural and recreational scope of partnerships. With rail and road transport, Sao Martinho do Porto, also served by the A8 freeway, is just 100 km from Lisbon (1 hour), 120 km of Coimbra (1 hour) and 200 km from Porto (2 hours). At the epicenter of a diversified touristic area, we are located within short distance of the famous towns of Alfeizerao (4 km), Nazare (13km), Alcobaca (22 km), Batalha (40 km), Leiria (50 km), Fatima (50 km), Caldas da Rainha (16 km), Obidos (22 km), Bombarral (30 km) and Torres Vedras (50 km).

Basic rooms, but clean, soft bed sheets; not every room have a balcony; friendly and very helpful employees; very good and complete breakfast. Parking area. It`s not far from the beach, near the market, some pastries.

Located in a residential part of the upper town, this is an ideal spot for peace and quiet, despite being close to a busy road junction. Our room was not over large but perfectly clean and the bathroom fully equipped and in good working order. Very little storage space for clothes but that disadvantage was outweighed by the hotel's strongest points, its helpful staff and its outstandingly good breakfast buffet - superior to that in many a luxury hotel. Coffee, from a machine, was a little weak but that was remedied by the addition of a shot of espresso! The front desk was manned, during our three night stay, by a very friendly and helpful young man who gave us loads of excellent advice about the locality, restaurants etc. The hotel is a gentle ten or fifteen minutes walk from the beach if you use the free elevator to the tourist information office but beware, the lift closes at 9pm so you have a steep climb back if you're later. We liked São Martinho very much and will certainly use this hotel when we visit again.

Although this small hotel is a 10 minute walk from the beach it offers good rooms, at a great price (even on a holiday, as was the case with us) and a great breakfast. Eggs, bacon, crepes, a variety of cheese, cold cuts, nuts, cereal, bread, etc etc etc, more than any other 2-star hotel I've ever seen. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much. The only not so great bits were some lack of pressure from the shower head and the coffee wasn't so great (hey, I'm Portuguese!). But you tend to forget that when you have pastéis de nata for breakfast!

Breakfast is awesome, with great patisseries, superfriendly and helpful owners, basic rooms but very clean and spacey. Everything in town in 10-15 min walking distance. Definitely worth more than a 2 star-hotel!
