Given the fact that Sweden is generally extremely expensive (at least for Southern Europeans), Fjallbacka is no exception. However, this is a good place to stay if you want to save a little money. Last May we paid half price with respect to Store Hotellet Bryggan, fair enough since this is a sort of hostel with private rooms. No breakfast is offered but there's a kitchen (i think they have coffee for a few crowns). We personally went to Store Hotellet and paid 12 euros for an amazing breakfast. This is a good solution if you don't wanna pay the full price of a hotel but need to have breakfast somewhere. Indeed, if you happen to be in Fjallbacka during the week (except summertime) most places are closed down (including cafes), expect the restaurant on the pier.

Fjällbacka is on the most expensive coastline in Sweden, and as such this place is also more expensive than the same type of places to stay other places in Sweden. Prices here vary (in May) from 700 - 900 Swedish kroner. That said, the people running the place are first class, and the place itself is really good. There is a big kitchen with all necessary equipment, plenty of space in fridges and freezers, and so on. Fjallbacka Pensionat och Vandrarhem has a big living-room with a piano and TV, plenty of chairs and sofas, and space for eating as well. The place is really clean as well, which is a plus - and it's placed just 2 minutes walk from the harbor, where things happen. In the summer time, that is. Outside the season Fjällbacka is a sleepy and nice little village with one restaurant daily open in the harbor, and a pizza restaurant that is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That said - the pizzas you get there (it's the nearest neighbour to Fjallbacka Pensionat och Vandrarhem) is some of the best in the world! Just you try it :) In the summer time, the place is crowded. But - it is one of the most beautiful small places along the Swedish coast, and we can recommend Fjallbacka Pensionat och Vandrarhem as a place to stay :)

I've stayed at this pensionat twice and I really like it. It is very simple and don't really offer anything out of the ordinary. It is clean and with a good location in central Fjällbacka. It also has a kitchen are with all the necessities. All rooms have their own bathrooms which is a plust. The first time we were here the service was so-so (2/5) but second time we got more of a friendly and warm welcoming feeling. Maybe a little bit expensive. Perfect for families or group of friends.
