Very Well Placed For Visiting,Dovedale,Tissington Trail & Local Attractions.Easy To Find Just Off The Main Road, Clean & Tidy. A Little Dated In Places,No Complimentary Soap Etc In Rooms. Breakfast Good,Though A Bit Haphazard,Probably Because The Whole Hotel Full Of guests Seemed to Arrive For Breakfast At The Same Time. Staff Friendly/Helpful.

We have stayed in Derbyshire many times but this was not one of our favourite places we were woken at approx. 6.30 on the first morning by a tractor stood right outside our bedroom window for 5 mins while the cab warmed through. Breakfast was very nice the scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly & the staff were friendly & helpful....

My partner and I booked this hotel on wowcher and after a 2 hour journey we were met with a somewhat unpleasant receptionist who informed us that the hotel had no power due to a power cut and the hotel was unable to provide heating among other necessities. While this was not the hotels fault the way they dealt with...

We stayed as two couples in mid-March, so rather out of season but were made very welcome. It's situated on that lovely scenic road between Ashbourne and Buxton, but don't forget this is farming community, and we had some rich rural smells to commend it! You may not be so lucky as we hit on the muck-spreading weekend! The back...

Room comfortable but a little small. It was situated at the rear so nice and quiet. Our deal included breakfast and afternoon tea both of which were adequate and enjoyable. The staff we met were very helpful and pleasant.

Two night Groupon B&B break. First visit and pleasantly surprised. Great location and good, reasonably priced food (breakfast and dinner) Staff friendly and the guy who acted as waiter/barman was a bundle of energy and good-humour. Only niggles were examples of penny-pinching (e.g no spare toilet roll left in bathroom and having to ask for extra teabags - only 3...

This is the 2nd time of staying at Newton house hotel... and again we weren't disappointed. The hotel is the ideal, quiet retreat for people who want to get away from the stresses of a busy life. The fact there is poor phone signal is the main reason we chose this place the first time round but they have excellent...

Had a very pleasant stay. The location is perfect if you're looking to take your bikes or go for a walk on the Tissington trail - the trail is literally on the door step. The room was clean and comfortable. We recommend the Royal Oak at Hurdlow for a good pub meal. The portions are massive.
