Old style public house. The bar food was good and they had vegetarian choices which is good and unusual. The bar staff are pleasant and friendly. The one thing that really spoiled our evening was the foul language of the locals and landlord. Perhaps this is just normal. There was a young boy and his grandfather having a meal and...

The food was Excellent and everyone was so friendly and could not do enough for you. The pub was dog friendly! (it has a little room to the side) which we used. I would love to go back again for a meal and even stay! Wonderful.

Called here last Sunday for a meal and a drink before going home after a nice long break in the peak district, the welcome & hospitality was great. We all ordered the carvery and it was superb and brilliant value for money. Will definitely be coming here again on our next visit to the area, highly recommended and deserving of...

After visiting the Bowling green about 18 months ago, I decided to book again for my husband as a birthday weekend surprise. After a busy week at work we were both looking forward to the ride over & relaxing with a pint taking in the stunning views. On our arrival we were promptly taken to our room & left to...

Stopped here for a drink after a local walk. Despite the 'dog friendly' signage, our welcome to the pub was not a friendly hello, but a harsh comment about dogs not being allowed in. We were informed that dogs were allowed in one of the side rooms or outside the front, not in the beer garden or in the room...

This is simply a superb place to go for either a friendly drink or a delicious meal . The food is first class and never been disappointed. The staff are great friendly and helpful and make everyone feel welcome. The garden at the rear is perfect on a summers day for families and in winter there is always a roaring...

Having stayed in Bradwell village for the week in a holiday cottage,we ate at this pub twice. We was made very welcome along with our Springer Spaniel, and can highly recommend the food, especially the Sunday Carvery which is amongst the best we've had! We live 100 miles away, but will definitely return.

We stayed just for one night and were in room 4. Initially we thought the room was great as it was a good size, had a 4 poster bed and tea making facilities (always a bonus!) Shower was powerful too. Unfortunately the whole room had a funny smell (damp?) that overpowered after a while. Main problem was that we could...
