I stayed here after unexpectedly deciding to spend a couple of days here, getting off the bus after dark. The room was large, the area was quiet at night, and the bed was comfortable. The restroom could use sprucing up, as I've found with most of my budget accommodation in Laos. Staff was ok. He booked my transportation to the next town for me.

One of the worst hotel in my trip. It was dirty and there were a lot of animals on the walls...we thought of butterly's cocoon and molf everywhere. I suggest the owner to clean and make the hotel better. Low quality price ratio...we paid 120,000kip for a double room.

we stay here one night before and one night after doing the Thakhek-loop for only 10.000 kips you may leave your bags here during your motor-cycle trip there is no restaurant but no need because of the central location this GH offers nothing special , but it's clean , good & soft bed , so it's ok ... for renting motorbikes I may recommend " Wang Wang Rental"

Watch out for bed bugs! We were in room 203 and noticed, too late, bed bugs! Besides that the room was fine. Shower was not really warm, the bathroom was cleanish. The man at the front desk not very friendly.

The hotel does not look like much from the outside. But the rooms are just fine. I stayed on the third floor which has a nice window. There is fast wifi. A good flow of hot water. A TV with RT News as the only English channel. The bed is very comfortable. Good AC. The room is clean. Not a great deal of choice for hotels in downtown Thakek. My only complaint is that this hotel is priced somewhat higher than similar hotels in other Lao cities. But, at 120,000, it is still the best option I found downtown.

We stayed here for a single night after deciding not to do the motor bike loop. The bed was the most uncomfortable we have had in our 3 months in southeast asia. The room not very clean, and the internet did not work. The air-conditioner worked and the TV worked, but there were no english channels. Not recommended, but there are limited options near by.

The owner kept a room for us (i called the day before arriving) even though he was fully booked on that day. Still i found the room a bit overpriced and only came back after checking no less than 6 other hotels and guesthouses without finding better value. The room was stylish and had a great view over the city (ask for higher floors). Comfy bed and pillow. Decent bathroom (for lao standard). Low water pressure. Sporadic wifi in the room (try in the lobby instead). Free lockers available behind the reception. PERFECT location. The owner was very nice and offered to keep our two bicycles and a big bag in his living room for two days while we took an overnight trip to see the konglor cave. I recommend this place.

Room was big and the furniture was of good quality but everything recent was a let down. The matress and bedding horrible. Room need a good scrub and was covered in cobwebs. The guys on reception just wanted the money then went back to watching the tv. Thakhek jusr felt like a town where everyone wanted the last bit of cash they could squeeze oit of you. The tuk tuk drivers started by asking for 100,000 kip for a couple of kms into town

The receptionist (owner?) was a cheerful guy with a good sense of humour. When showing us the rooms, he took with him one of those electric tennis racket thingies to take a swipe at anything resembling a mosquito. Oh, and it is centrally located in Thakek, or Thakaek. That wraps up the positive points. But.... we only accepted to pay 150.000 kip for a room because our trip by local bus from Pakse, instead of taking the expected 6½ hours, had taken twelve, and we were inclined to take any available room in any hotel. In fact, after paying less in Pakse for a much, much, much better room (see Phi Dao hotel in Pakse), Southida did little to cheer us up. The hotel entrance and corridors showed signs of wear, and a half-hearted attempt at painting only accentuated the gloom caused by damaged panelling and walls that bore the signs of past (or persisting?) plumbing problems. The room was in the same state: cheerless, depressing, in need of maintenance and redecoration. Air-con, tv, fridge were available and working, fair enough. The water heater in the shower did not work at first (it did a little later, no idea why), water pressure was insufficient and the knob to turn on the water came off, leaving basically only the water bucket in good working order. Beds were poor, with the coils in the mattresses sticking out. In the morning, dogs barked for hours on end. Around the corner, overlooking the river is the similarly priced, much bigger Mekong hotel (140.000/180.000 kip), while a two minute walk in the opposite direction takes you to the more expensive Inthira hotel, which is quite popular and was full when we checked.
