I don't normally review on trip advisor but when an experience is this amazing you need to share. Everything from the horses and classes to the food and accommodation was fantastic. Lucie and her team are so welcoming and helpful. The horse camp for the children has given them a deep respect and confidence with horses. My only regret is...

I wanted to stay only one night but ended up two nights and had to cut some other stuff. It was a great stay with Caballos de Luz in the Sierra de Rocha. There is a very good team around Lucie. The location is incredible outside of Rocha (round 20km) and really quiet. The rides with the well educated horses...

In February my family and I had the pleasure of getting a horseback lesson from Lucie and her husband. We were all super beginners and she gave us the best lesson and made sure we were stable on our horses before we took the trail ride. Her passion for horses is intoxicated and made us feel that we were in...

Wow, Wow, super-Wow! That was the definite highlight of my stay in Uruguay. Unforgettable experience of riding on horseback through a fantasy-movie-style countryside on very well trained horses with a lovely guide. I can only recommend to anyone coming to Uruguay to visit Lucie & Santiagos magical dwelling. They are not only excellent guides, but they also know how to...

We came to Caballos de Luz for five days to learn the basics of horse riding and some tours. Lucy asked us about food preferences or allergies in advance and we said that we eat vegan only. This is usually a bit complicated but Lucy managed to cook two excellent vegan meals every day. I can not say how great...

We had a most wonderful stay at Lucie and Santi's place. Lucie is super knowledgeable about horses and is an excellent and patient teacher. We are not experienced riders, but we felt comfortable and safe at all times. Our two kids absolutely adored Santi who is a natural kid magnet and spent hours playing and building stuff with them. They...

Caballos De Luz is magic! Lucie is a warm, wonderful host...good company...and beautiful soul! Everyone I met in the community was friendly and welcoming. The food is fresh and prepared with love! The horse riding experience is magic! I have not ridden horses that often...and Lucie's instruction and ability to choose the right horses was spot on! Even got to...

For the greatest weekend I have ever spent on a horseback. I spent my days at Caballos De Luz outside the town of Rocha, Uruguay. It is a horse farm who offers riders, experienced ones as well as beginners the opportunity to track along and up the beautiful mountains, green hills and slates that surrounds the valley. The farm is...

I actually haven't ride a horse since I was a child (and then only for a couple of times), so for me I didn't now what to expect when I first came to Caballos de Luz. But, hey, this place is incredible! Any nature lover must go here! Uruguay is more than beaches, at Caballos de Luz you live in...

“rooms are simple and charming, one is a rather spacious cabin really, which is a better option if you want some space to practice yoga ot Tai Chi”

“There is only one, possibly two rooms. Both are rustic - you can forget your wi-fi, TV and AC for a couple of nights. Funny how you will not miss them at all.”
