We ate there as really nowhere else at night but found it very good home cooked meal at good price. Breakfast was basic but adequate. We loved the little town it us in we walked around... More

Overall à good experience, small room but clean was alone in the hotel. Breakfast was ok but small portions, there are few restaurants in bogazkale so I also had an expensive meal there. Owner was friendly but would not barter any lower than advertised price.

This hotel has been one of my " better stays" in Turkey. It is in a very good location for the Hattusa archeological site. The room I had was very clean, nicely furnished with a modern bathroom. The restaurant had a good choice of tasty dishes and the buffet breakfast was substantial. There is also a pleasant garden where you... More

The room is not very big, but comfortable. There are breakfast, lunch and dinner and beer... The night was a little cool, we got a blanket and even a gas-fired heater. I dont need much better. Recommend.

Unless this place has changed radically in the last year, I would not recommend it. We were the only patrons when we stayed there. The room was grim, cold, with worn-out sheets, not enough blankets, poor-to-hostile service. They would not provide breakfast, would not fix us any dinner and could make no suggestions of a place to find food in... More

Having had to 'fight off' our taxi driver from Sungurlu and a man from one of the other hotels who 'advised' us not to go to Baykal hotel, we fianlly made it on foot. We stayed in the Hotel part, so I know nothing of the pension/dorms. The hotel room was airy, clean, and the furniture in good repair. The... More

After having been pressed by the annoying hotel guys at the entrance of Bogazkale I was so glad I found this hotel. Ahmet the hotel director is a relaxed, friendly and helpful guy speaking excellent English. The rooms are good and the prices are fair. The hotel lies nearer to Hattusha than the hotels at the entrance of Bogazkale which... More

He might be dangeros. I will never go there again. You can park the car in front of the hotel. The famous ruins are very... More

We stayed here with our 2 kids and could choose a room which actually was almost like a small flat with a small entrance lobby with sofa, 1 room with one bed, and another with 2 beds sleeping 3. Bathroom was also big. They have a small courtyard on which it is very pleasant relaxing end of the afternoon with... More

Visitors should be aware that the hotel is hostile to same sex couples. On a recent (June 2011) trip to Anatolia my girlfriend and I (same sex couple) and our friends (mixed sex couple) stayed for one night in the Hattusas Pension, Hotel Baykal owned by Ahmed Baykal in the village of Boğazkale.
