Very clean and cozy room with big comfortable bed, fridge, TV and air condition unit. Wifi was free and working well. Common areas well kept. Location is good. You can walk to the centre. It takes no more than 20 minutes. Or you can take a tram that stops right outside the hotel. The only negative thing would be that...

I had been travelling a lot and this is the worst experience I had so far. No receptionist, no Wi-Fi, nobody cleans the room, nobody to attend to your needs or complain. The room air conditioner was noisy, the TV remote control don't work. Don't be mislead by the pictures they post.

Arriving on a Sunday evening was interesting ! No staff at reception, albeit it was 5.30pm, a confusion with rooms, and to park in the provided car parks, you needed to drive a Mini! But, after the initial disappointment, although very basic, old and worn, our room had very comfortable beds and was extremely quiet. My 82 year old mother...

We were advised we would be contacted with a code to gain entry to the hotel. This didn't happen. We logged 3 phone calls to the pub. They're message bank said they would return the call. This didn't happen. We caught a tram to where the pub is located on our first day in Melbourne (Monday). It was closed on...

Second time i have stayed here and once again left happy. The rooms are clean and easily accessible at all hours. The bar has an excellent selection of craft beers on tap and the restaurant did not disappoint. All staff were friendly and helpful. Will stay here again

Although we did not even stay at this hotel we felt our experience should be told, we booked this hotel on 18th Sept for 4 nights in April 2017 had a free cancellation till 30 days before arrival (ie March 17 2017) admit that being a pub we thought it would be open fairly late. But having no mobile and...

Room 8 looks on to the roof in the centre of the hotel where the old clapped out refrigeration unit turns on and off all night, complete with squealing fan belt, the compressor coughs and wheezes into life and clatters away for hours making it unbelievably noisy. Even with earplugs I doubt you will be able to sleep. Other than...

Baden Powell Hotel provides budget-priced accommodation outside the CBD. Rooms are functional, clean, and reasonably secure (one keypad lock on street door and on hotel door). Dining area and bar on floor below means a lot of noise until closing time (11.000 week nights). Reception is at bar and also closes at 11pm. Trams run both ways on Victoria Parade...

Spent a pleasant couple of hours at this old style pub, about 15 minute walk from MCG. Has the qualities of an old bar from yesteryear but with some of the new craft beers to choose from. Even some music from the 60's like Cream drifting through the background amongst an eclectic seating arrangement from lounge chairs to dining tables....

I stayed here whilst having a long holiday on the cheap with a friend (backpacking trying to avoid hostels). Needless to say this place was clean and ample space for what you pay. The only difficulty we had was checking in as we arrived late Monday night after a 24 hour trek from London. We hadn't received an email prior...
