We stayed in a 2-bedroom deluxe unit. It had everything we needed. Lots of thoughtful additions like 2 different size esky’s, picnic supplies, plastic containers for packing your picnic food. It was great having a washing machine which meant we could take a lot less clothes and more food. The unit was beachfront and sleeping to the sound of the sea was lovely. The aircon worked well. Annalies and Graham were great hosts always available to answer our questions. We had an 11 month baby with us and we were supplied with a baby bath, which doubled as a splash pool, a cot and high chair. Very central to everything including the airport which is just across the road. As there was no new visitors coming after us we were able to stay in our accommodation until we had to board the flight which was a huge bonus with a baby.…
Accommodation is clean, walking distance to supermarket cafes and restaurant. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Room had a washing machine, air conditioning and tv for night time. I would definitely stay there again.
We have had a great stay at castaways. Very clean and comfortable, great air conditioning and lovely entertainment areas with a deck looking out to the surf 50 yards away. Would definitely recommend if visiting Cocos Keeling
We loved our stay in cocos castaway . The owners were very friendly and helpful . The spacious apartment was clean comfortable and well equipped. There was a lovely large private veranda too . I would definitely recommend
Very clean and comfortable everything you need and in great central location. Close to airport, supermarket and tourist office and the Cocos Club. Overlooks the ocean for evening drinks. Analysis and Graham most helpful. Would definitely stay there again
We loved our stay at Castaway great facilities, there was a lovely view of the sea and we turtle watched at the back of the property most days. We would definitely stay there again if we returned to Cocos.
Back again to our favourite place to stay in our favourite place in the world! Our 2 bedroom Retreat on the ocean has great views from the front bedroom and balcony. We love listening to the sound of the waves- other music not required. Looking forward to coming back in July 2023!
The Castaway is the best place to stay on Cocos Island. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and beautifully decorated with a tropical motif. The grounds are great with a cute barbecue area and a large lawn area fronting onto the ocean (see photo). The location is terrific with the general store and the visitors centre just over the road. We initially stayed at the Cocos Beach Resort Motel because the Castaway wasn't available. When we arrived at the Castaway it was like landing in the lap of luxury. Graham was fabulous and really made our trip even more memorable.
Cocos Castaway is in a lovely spot, conveniently located across from the airport, the club and the only cafe. We only had a standard room, which was small but totally fine. The room was very clean and we really enjoyed sitting out on the grass in front of the property pretty much every morning and evening to watch the water, the turtles and reef sharks. Our host was also very helpful and gave us some good intel for our stay on island 👍 If I had to be picky then I would just say that I wish there had been a stove to cook on in our room rather than just a microwave, as it limited what we could prepare for meals. That’s minor though!! If we were to go back I would try and book one of the villas that had ocean frontage via a deck…I was a bit envious of the neighbours who could kick back in a hammock and swing in the breeze! All in all, a great place 😊…
We were very happy with our stay at the Cocos Castaway. We stayed in the end one, of three, standard room. The room was pleasantly decorated and comfortably furnished. The ensuite bathroom was a good size, clean and up to date. Everything had been done with attention to detail. There were picnic baskets and eskys and large amounts of ice and ice packs (in the freezer on the shared verandah). And a really thoughtful addition was the washing machine in the kitchen area. The owners, Graham and Annaliese, were lovely and a mine of information about the islands. Our flight back to Perth was significantly delayed but our hosts were happy for us to stay on, finishing our last minute packing and catching up with friends we had made on the trip, whilst waiting for the plane. And the islands are lovely, plenty of empty beaches, snorkelling, turtles, kayaks, good food at the one or two restaurants. A very enjoyable visit.…
