This picturesque island is everyone's dream holiday. The stunning villa with a incredible view of the beach also comes with private chef, butler and other friendly staff. All the staff couldn't possibly nicer! We went as a big family group and stayed in a stunning beach front villa called Sulowilo. The staff are so friendly and you become such good... More

I have been going back and fort on this review, should it get 3 stars or 4 stars... I ended with 4 stars. This is undoubtedly among the most beautiful places, comparable to Mahale/Greystroke on the shores of Lake Tanganyika and Anjajavy on the Northwestern coast of Madagascar. As others have described, the beach, crystal clear water, and accommodations (we... More

I love beach holidays and have day dreamed about finding the perfect quiet island with clean soft powder sand, amazing water - that feels like your own. Vamizi island is the dream holiday. There are several villas on the island and a lodge with smaller beach huts but the way that the accommodation is spread out means that you do... More

As others have said, this place is not easy to get to, but boy is it worth it! Never have I flown over endless white beaches and turquoise blue sea to get anywhere like it is in Mozambique. The arrival airport and the drive to the villa's is nothing to write home about and a little worrying as it doesn't... More

Pros were having a very comfortable villa to ourselves, lovely staff/chef and unrivalled beaches and excellent diving. Cons were distance to reach Vamizi as is remote and no watersport activities (diving is offered). Would highly recommend for a group wanting to chill and just enjoy the peace and the lovely beach but not suggested for those keen on adding windsurfing/fishing/skiing... More

I recently spend four idyllic nights on Vamizi Island off the northern coast of Mozambique and can only say that it is to date one of the most beautiful and tranquil places I have been privileged to visit. The brevity of the stay was due to it being a site inspection/educational for select agents in the high-end travel industry. Currently... More

Vamizi Island in Mozambique is not the easiest place to get to but it is worth the time it takes to get there. White sand beaches, some of the best scuba diving in the world, water activities galore, amazing food and great service. What more can I say, you need to check it out for yourself.

We returned to the Quirimbas Archipelago 10 years after our honeymoon. On honeymoon we stayed at Quilalea which was excellent, but we fancied a change, so opted (with great advice from Dominic at Scott Dunn) to stay at Vamizi. We spent 9 nights on the Island. Admittedly its a bit of a schlep from England (3 flights in ever decreasing... More

Logistics: Getting here is neither easy nor straight forward, and best approached as 'part and parcel' of the adventure. We flew in from Dar es-Salam and that required a pitstop in Mocimboa da Praia to clear Customs and Immigration. All bags were taken off the plane to be scanned and then reloaded - took but a 110/15 minutes. Visas -... More
