The room was clean, modern and had a powerful air conditioning unit! A small fridge, safe, flat screen tv & everything was ultra modern. Bathroom was pleasant also. Breakfast room was nice but could have had a few extra vegetarian options. Lounge singer poolside was very relaxing in the evening. One reception staff member made my trip by his warmth, friendliness, humour and his ability to sell the hotel to me as a possible for my companies business conference hotel destination next year! I would employ him in my company in a heartbeat and fasttrack him too! One slight disappointment was the security at the gate. They were not warm and were more interested in conversations with themselves instead of acknowledging their customers. Please do not let that put you off though. I will be back there shortly.…
I stayed at the Watercress Hotel for 10 days during Christmas 2018 holidays. Security: The hotel is very safe; gated and has 24 hr security personnel posted at the gate. They checked our trunk of our car every time we returned. Location: My husband selected this hotel because of its central location. I loved it's close proximity Murtala Muhammed International Airport. It took us 15 minutes with traffic from the airport to get to the hotel; that is a blessing when you arrive late after an extremely long flight. The Hotel is also 5 minutes from the Ikeja City Mall which has many stores and restaurants inside;including the Shoprite supermarket to grab essentials. The food in the Hotel is very expensive and portions were small so we visited the Ikeja City Mall very often for most of our meals for restaurant variety and prices. The pool area was nice but i did not like how open it was to the gate. I went down for a swim late in the evening the staff thought I walked in off the street to use the pool so they kept peppering me with questions. The pool area needs to be closed off to the public at a certain time and barred off with a gate or gate arm. Staff: We received great customer service from the staff who were friendly, polite and accommodating in meeting our needs. Rooms: The rooms were clean for the most part but needs updating. Housekeeping came daily to freshen our room. The bathrooms lacked counter space for a our toiletries and mirrors were brown stained and need replacing. the shower needs re grouting because even after housekeeping leaves it still looks dirty; makes you want to use flip flops to take a shower. Rooms do not have ironing boards or irons to iron garments: laundry service will do it for you for a fee. The beds were comfortable enough and clean but the sheets and comforters had holes and pillows were brown stained. It would be nice to have an electric outlet converter in at least one of the outlets to charge your electronic devices. Food: Room service had a limited menu because many things were not available. Our room included free breakfast buffet but it was the same offerings every morning: eggs, mackerel, potatoes, fruit, tea or coffee so days of the same we went elsewhere for breakfast for a change.Almost everyday at breakfast there was an disgruntled guest arguing about paying for water and the price they charged. So that's why we ate out many days .FYI the street food a block away from the hotel is pretty tasty and extremely cheaper that the hotel. The staff were friendly and we happy to meet our needs. The lovely Christmas decorations that greet you in the lobby were nice and the lobby looks newly modeled but the rooms need work. My only dislikes were the bedding and bathroom needing replacing and updating and the over price food and water. I guess that is to be expected for hotel.…
I stayed there for 5 nights and I struggled a lot to find vegetarian food. Also the breakfast didn't have much choice apart from fruits which also was very limited. The hotel must provide more food options in the breakfast. They would really need to upgrade their service as I literally had to wait for minimum 15-20 minutes for someone to come to my room for any service. The day I had to check out, i asked for someone to come and help me picking up my luggage, nobody came and neither they helped me to put up luggage in my car. Choose this property keeping in mind this place is not for vegetarian and you are not going to get good service.
So stayed here for a few days 6 nights I believe and had a generally good experience. The hotel was clean, well kept and gave a feeling of security even as it's situated in the heart of ikeja near the old shrine which used to have a somewhat bad reputation. The hotel boasts a small swimming pool but it looks nice. There is a gym available to guests, and breakfast is included with a nice spread to choose from. The conference halls are small with basic equipment for presentations available. There are some draw backs however towels provided seem old and are started to show it, the food is quite expensive and takes a while to get to you so even as it's delicious you may want to order early before you get hungry. The pool was slightly dirty when I got around to using it but nothing a net wouldn't get rid of, however the pool is cleaned with chlorine and it's too much so hard on the eyes I had red eyes after use so goggles are highly recommended. The hotel is a bit pricey as well but are open to discounts on longer stays. Outside that the staff are pleasant and attentive so you tend to get good service. The hotel also has cabs for trips around town and a band Fridays and saturdays. All in all a good place to stay p.s. if you find the food too expensive a short walk will get you to alade avenue where there are a variety of food stalls that open from 7pm till late 🤤 always worth a look.…
I had to stay here for 2 nights for business in Nigeria. The hotel room was clean and tidy. The food in the restaurant was delicious although the portions were not very big. The main gate was manned by security 24/7 so you could feel safe here. Would return here if I had to come back to Nigeria.
