I can't speak highly enough of the wonderful experience at As the River Bends retreat. I spent 5 nights in the lovely Maple Dome. I was on a true retreat, so Shawna & Mark respected my privacy yet were there with wonderful hospitality and genuine care any time it was required. The Dome itself was perfect-every detail & amenity carefully considered & provided. The space was spotless and rustic, yet luxurious-a hard balance to keep, but done to perfection. Location is an easy drive into Windsor, Grand Pre or Wolfville with plenty of restaurants, entertainment, shopping and sightseeing opportunities. The grounds are beautiful with forest, wild flowers and little hidden gems throughout. I highly recommend splurging on the charcuterie platter. It was delicious and beautiful and kept me fed for my entire stay. Can't wait to return! Thank you Shawna & Mark.

We stayed at the Maple dome - it was clean, so cozey and beautifully decorated with lots of little touches like games, cards and heated mattress pads. The kitchen had everything we needed - spices, oil, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. The shower was large and the rainfall shower head was so nice.

The hot tub and patio area with bbq was spacious and there are so many birds. The comfy slides, hooks outside and robes made the hot tub experience even better.

Shawna and Mark were excellent hosts and only 45 minutes outside the city, As The River Bends is a must see.

Serene, peaceful, complete and total relaxation. The owners were extremely hospitable and very kind.
We stayed in the treehouse. It had a screened in main living space that brought the outdoors in, the fluidity made you feel like you were outside but the structure gave you the comfort that you were enclosed.
Everything you could possibly need, from outdoor cooking to indoor cooking, an absolutely amazing hot water outdoor shower, coolers with ice provided, comfortable and clean furnishings, whimsical lighting….. and so much more!
The property boasts gardens, ponds, beautiful trails by the river and little surprises tucked in the forest along the way. This is a place we will definitely be returning and highly recommend.❤️

Very luxurious domes with hot tubs, in a peaceful woodland setting near a trout stream. Shawna is a most gracious hostess. We ordered the breakfast charcuterie board, which was generous enough to provide two meals and part of a third. Wolfville is nearby, and is a most charming college town.

Our experience at this retreat was nothing short of amazing. My husband and I stayed here for a night and it was so peaceful, relaxing and so tranquil. We loved everything about the dome, the decor, the vibes, the privacy, the hot tub. It was spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. The location is also excellent - short drive to Windsor or Wolfville. Lots to do and see, lots of fantastic restaurants and breweries/wineries. The grounds here are spectacular. Take a walk around the property and down to the river and you won’t be disappointed. Shawna also took the time to give us a run down on the Geodome and the property and gave us all kinds of information on things to do in the are. These property owners are the kind of hosts that you know put so much heart and soul into what they do. Truly one of the best accommodations we’ve experienced in the Martimes. I cannot wait to come back to this place. It was such a great reset. Thank you Shawna!

I hate camping. Always have. When my lovely wife found As The River Bends I was skeptical but gave it a shot. OMG it was so awesome! First, Shawna is a real sweetheart who made us feel so welcomed. Even Ruby the dog greeted us and showed us to our dome! Shawna and Mark thought of everything with their domes. Shawna’s interior design taste is impeccable. I guess this is called glamping but it’s so much more than that. We stayed here towards the end of a 3 week road trip through Canada and this was by far our favorite accommodation. If you’re looking for a place to stay near the Bay of Fundy As The River Bends is a must.

There aren't words to describe how beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, and absolutely perfect this place is! The calm we felt while staying in The Cedar dome recently for a two day stay to celebrate our anniversary was second to none. The dome itself is beautiful inside and out and every detail has been thought of and provided. The decor is beautiful and functional and the overall feel is one of complete and total comfort from the moment you walk in the door. Everything you need is there and yet it is a very clean, orderly space. In addition, the grounds are amazing and we enjoyed the hot tub several times over our stay. Absolutely and without doubt a perfect place to stay, highly recommend!!

This little hidden gem is worth every penny. The hosts are gracious and personable. They have thought of every minor detail from the kitchenette to the decor. The amenities are so much more than mentioned on the site. Each dome has its own private hot tub and flip flops and bathrobes to go with it. Tons of throw blankets and plants everywhere. That great big window allowing you to wake up to the view of the woods and river is simply breathtaking.

This place is the perfect get away. Beautiful area, close to loads of activities, yet you never want to leave the property because of how peaceful it is. The domes are beautiful and full of individual touches. The bathroom is beautiful and comes with all the amenities you need. The bed is so comfortable and it goes without saying the propane fireplace and hot tub are amazing. We also rented the projector, which was a great touch. Shawna and her family are so nice and caring and were happy to help with anything we needed. Clearly this family works so hard to make sure all their guests have an incredible experience. We went for my boyfriend's birthday and we both agreed it was everything we were looking for. Will definitely be going back!

We always have the most amazing time here. The domes are so cozy in the winter and the hot tub so inviting. The trails are well kept and easy enough for the kids to explore. The hosts are the kindest and most helpful. We truly look forward to our time here and love being comfortable enough to truly relax and unwind. Absolute perfection.
