As locals we have visited the Black Bull at Lowick several times over th last 20 years. It closed three years ago looking very tired and in need of investment. I was told in early March 2017 by a work colleague that it had reopened and we really should call in. We did and what a difference! Ignore the photos...

Visited the Black Bull to find it completely refurbished to an extremely high standard.Lovely staff offered us a tour of the accommodation, and we were so impressed. Would love to book in if I didn't live locally! Had a lovely lunch in the cafe, then came again for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent, and the staff so courteous and...

This village inn which dates back to at least 1817, but is probably much older, has recently been sympathetically restored and refurbished to a very high standard by the new owners Karl and Emma. It is now open again after a lot of hard work to redesign and renew almost everything while keeping the historic building intact. Free house. Lovely...

Thank you for your comments. We really appreciate your support. We believe that parts of the building go back to the mid 1600's.

We booked this accommodation a couple of days before arrival for the bargain price £55 for double room including breakfast. We arrived at about 8.30pm after a long journey and wondered if they were still serving meals. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and seemed very happy for us to order a meal even though they were about to finish....

We booked this hotel for one night on Trivago thinking that it was in Berwick upon Tweed (we wanted to spend the night in this town in particular) but once we arrived in Berwick, there was no Black Bull Inn there. Our sat nav showed that the hotel was in Lowick, 16 min from Berwick in the countryside. We were...

Located at the far end of the village this pub has plenty of car parking space. Although it could do with some paint on the outside inside there is a warm welcome. The pub area is large including a separate dinning area called bistro but the food is the same where ever you sit. There is a wide variety of...

Was looking for a base to visit Edinburgh for the tattoo. Didn't want to stop in Berwick and found the Black Bull while searching the web. To begin don't let the exterior put you off,( remember don't judge a book by it's cover). It is quite clearly stated not to arrive until 5.00 pm for check-in, we arrived just before...
