After moving from place to place in Portugal we had set aside Quint do Bouca- agrotorismo as the place to settle in and spend awhile . It worked out perfectly for us. The Quinta is well located in the Douro and makes many vineyards and the river very accessible. The room is well stocked both with food and utensils. We picked oranges and lemons off the trees, it was great for the kids as there are ducks, geese, horses.on the property. Paula was accessible and answered all questions.Couldn't have been a better choice
The cottage was clean, comfortable and welcoming when we arrived. A bottle of wine was awaiting us, along with milk and bread and fresh fruit. Paula was attentive to all of our needs and available when we needed something. The place had everything we wanted -- a large private patio for relaxing in the evenings, a private pool for cooling off in the afternoons, great interior space (including a bedroom with views down to the river), and extensive hiking trails throughout the property. This part of the Douro Valley is less touristy than Porto to the west, or the wine region to the east, but that was part of its charm. Good base for day trips to nearby towns, small wineries, rural restaurants, hikes, etc. We spent five great days here and could have easily spent more time. I hope we can return.…
Recently stayed here with my partner for 10 nights. Paula and the cottage were fantastic. The fridge had plenty of supplies when we arrived, including some home grown wine and a Portuguese delicacy. Fresh bread was supplied each morning and all other breakfast needs provided as you use them. The cottage was extremely clean and modern with a private pool and beautiful views. A car is needed, however it makes for the perfect getaway.
Fantastic place! The whole property is beautiful and Paula and her family are great hosts. There are many things to discover in the area as well. Good restaurants as well but be aware that you need a car to get around
Beautiful views, lemon and orange trees in the garden, beautiful houses, home made bread in the mornings. Great staff! Pool and garden.Horses and view over Douro! Home made wine and chilling placed in outdoor area.
