This place is MAGICAL. From the moment i stepped foot on premises, i could sense a special kind of energy and magic about it. Every aspect and feature was incredible, but what was most distinct and unmistakeable was the extraordinary care of the staff. You can tell they love this place, they love their jobs, and they love one another.... More

I stayed at Black Rock while on a Belize Yoga retreat in January 2015. What a wonderful and special place. The setting is amazing. The staff could not do enough for us - answered every question imaginable, remembered the names of all 19+ in our group and who ate/didn't eat what. Their concern and care for their environment and desire... More

Loved our stay here! As others have said, the staff is simply wonderful. We stayed here 5 nights. Each day, we went with one of the guides on a new adventure. Diego, Isa, Carlos, and Fernando were extremely informative and genuinely kind and good natured. At the end of the day, Hendry and the other restaurant staff were welcoming and... More

This was our second trip to Black Rock, this time with friends, and it was amazing. We've already booked for next year, and I can't wait! It's a place where you can do everything or nothing - we chose a mix of both - floating down the river in a tube, and lounging on the deck watching birds. Petro, Peter... More

We have just come back from Belize where we stayed in this jungle lodge along with our son and his girlfriend. The location in the jungle is amazing in itself, being right on the banks of this beautiful river. The lodges are comfortable and the views from the restaurant are gorgeous but it is the knowledgeble helpful, friendly staff that... More

My wife, 10 yr old daughter, and I stayed a week at BRL and absolutely loved it. The location- nestled in a gorge with the Macal River below and limestone cliffs rising abruptly from lush tropical forest above- is stunning. The Black Rock property is huge, and there are great hiking trails that begin at the lodge and climb up... More

My spouse and our 3 adult 'kids' spent 3 days at Blackrock. We spent the other half of the week on Ambergris Caye. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Blackrock. The staff were exceptionally service oriented, the food was very good and the views of the river and conservation area were wonderful. We stayed in rooms 16 and 17. They... More

I would give this lodge 6 stars if I could. The location is stunning, the activities top notch including the hike to the top of the cliff; the birding brilliant. We took canoe trips, walked to the waterfall, went on night hikes and night drive and could have done so much more without leaving the site. The food was first... More

Visited 5 yrs since first time. This time brought 4 new friends that love to travel. Two of which are generally more "high end" travelers, one is a nature lover and one loves to relax anywhere. Everyone loved Black Rock. The food, the staff, the setting, the activities - all top notch. Did I mention the food, delicious, fresh, healthy... More
