Beautiful setting with lovely luxurious cabanas facing the river. Staff are excellent and there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. Food is delicious and enjoyed mingling with other guests over dinner Couldn't recommend this place any more!

My wife and I spent only one night at Black Rock (travel problems) but we thought it was the best of the four different places we stayed in Belize. It is cheaper and even more luxurious than other similar lodges in the Macal River area. We had what I reckon was the best cabin (a Waterfall Deluxe, but I forget...

From the minute our driver, Isaias, picked us up in Belize City, drove us to Cayo, thoughtfully stopping for lunch at a local roadhouse, describing the local wildlife, history, and socio-economics, I knew Black Rock was going to be a great stay. The lodge itself is at the furthest extent of a dirt road that winds up into the mountains...

Excellent staff and guides here, all the rooms face the river. There are lots of trips out escorted by guides and bird watching walks etc around the lodge grounds. The food was very good. The bar closes at about 9pm so if you want a drink or coffee the lovely bar staff will leave some out for you. A beautiful...

We had an unbelieveable time! The lodge is very clean in the middle of a wonderful jungle. We had wonderful, healthy, meals each day. We witnessed toucans pointed out to us by the Lodges tourguides. They feed the wonderful birds right from the restaurant balcony which welcomes a large variety of birds, including parrots and toucans to come and dine...

This jungle lodge is just amazing! The managers Peter and Pedro do a great job and helped us a lot in organizing our tours. We have stayed in River Front Suite #17, which is co-located with suite #16. Both feature a king-size bed and a spacious seating area that can be transformed into two single beds. The family-style is a...

Not only is the Black Rock environmentally sensitive, it is beautiful, and staffed with friendly, people, knowledgeable about the flora and fauna that surround it. Although you have to drive quite a bit to get to most of the activities in the area, the setting of the lodge is well worth the extra time. Don't miss the ATM cave tour....

Black Rock Lodge was an incredible experience for us, from the time we made the reservation to our stay at the hotel. It is located in the Macal Canyon on the Macal River. The jungle birds wake you up every morning. The restaurant and staff were excellent. We had three wonderful meals everyday overlooking the canyon. The cabin we had...

Not sure what else I can say that the other reviews of this place have not, but I will try. Four couples stayed here for only two nights in March and absolutely loved it! From the moment you arrive it is all done so very well, even before that really as we arranged to be picked up in Belize City...

We began our January 2015 trip to Belize with 3 nights at BRL, and it was a lucky starting point. Unfortunately, our other Belize destinations paled in comparison, and we wish we had stayed a week instead! The cabin was perfect, with great attention to detail including fresh hibiscus flowers and cleverly folded towels. On our deck overlooking the river,...
