Five ladies of a certain age dining to celebrate two big birthdays Impressed from the start by the welcome and the relaxed atmosphere and by the excellent wide choice of menu. The freshly cooked food was delicious and the desserts were outstanding.. The whole evening surpassed my expectations

As soon as you step in this house, u feel like coming home. Sooo scots and soooo cosy Very busy and friendly hosts. Family run - they really know what they do I had dinner in the restaurant, which was very good. Lots of local products like fish, lamb and deer. The portions are huge - so you won't leave... More

We went to celebrate my son's 40th birthday, and it was delicious. Our veggie companion had choice and loved what they were offered, and al in all it was a five star expereience. Yet not overpriced, consdiering the qualtiy it was very good value. Visiting in August, mid-school holidays, there were children in one section of the restaurant but we... More

We stayed for 1 night , arriving early we expected to be told to come back later, nothing of the sort rooms ready and super friendly welcome. Rooms good and clean and a reasonable size, tea and cofee facilities. We ate in the restaurant at the hotel and the food was simply superb - cost for two courses and a... More

Wonderful old, 1700s traveler's Inn. Quaint and comfortable. Food is superb and dinners in the dining room and breakfast...are definitely don't miss. Very popular with the locals. Beautiful area that invites you to explore the Cairngorms! Would happily stay here again!

Lovely room and dinner was second to none. Recommend. Staff and owners work hard to get it right. Travelling with grandchildren, comfortable lounge to relax after dinner, board games available. Nothing too much trouble.

We had a nice stay at the Rowan Tree and a fabulous dinner! I am hoping the chef will send me his recipe for the steak pie. If you want a feel and taste of Scotland than this is a good place to stay. Right next to the CNP and the Leault Sheep Herding Farm. Great location!

Good location - close to A9 but no sign of it from the hotel, and close to Aviemore and the hills. We stayed for one night en route to the north coast, so it made an ideal stopping point. We were warmly received and made to feel welcome. The room looked over the front, so I could check on the... More

Stayed here for two nights with family, with the aim of exploring the history, scenery and wildlife in the area. The hotel is very clean, very friendly, and very cosy. The rooms are small, especially the bathrooms, but that is what you would expect in a period building. The breakfasts are good. We ate one night in the restaurant and... More

Visited this hotel last week for a family birthday and cannot fault this place. Beautiful environment with a cosy feel. The staff were fantastic with their service giving special attention to younger members of my family and being very friendly. Food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was gorgeous. Cannot recommend enough.

Thank Kirsty W
