The staff was not available after 20:00. Disappeared. There were 6 glasses, but not the advertised coffee machine or kettle, the promised view of the river, was, hmmmm, not there as you can see in the photo. The bed smelled.... Try to find another hotel.
We went there after our walk to the glacier for coffee and cakes. The array of cakes was stunning. They were cut into small pieces so you could try every one - and I did. So delicious. There were also toilets and a gift shop.
Went by Troll car on the Briksdal Glacier Tour. Stopped here for coffee/tea and cakes prior to leaving. Staff were extremely friendly, spoke good English, efficient and the cakes were fabulous! Toilets were plentiful and very clean.
This operation includes the lodging plus restaurant. We enjoyed a very nice Buffet Lunch. Nice variety of options including several desserts. The seating area is large and includes outside seating. The Restaurant is able to serve lots of people, mainly because of the number of tour buses stopped here for tours of the Briksdal Glacier. Actually, the Glacier tour starts at this location. Good place for lunch or a snack either before or after the Briksdal Glacier Tour. On a nice day, the view of the snow capped mountains, waterfalls and stream rqpids can't be beat.
Coming back from the Birksdal Glacier we choose to take a coffee break at this cosy Cafe restaurant. We took a seat on the terrace with view to the waterfalls and glacier. 5/5 We ordered cappuchino 4/5, Apple nut berry cake 4/5, Chicken vegetable wrap 4/5. The waiters are friendly and helpful 4/5. The price for all those is euro 16,50 reasonable taking in account that it is a busy tourist area. They served also an buffet lunch menu.
