Newly renovated hotel with a lovely view of the fjord and mountains. Friendly staff. The breakfast was fresh and delicate arranged. Plenty of free parking lots outside the hotel. Quiet rooms even though the hotel is situated next to the main road.
We came to the Stryn Hotel with an organised tour for one night. The rooms were very nice. Unfortunately the breakfast was very poor and most of the group were hungry. They told the person in charge who did not help.
Stayed one night with a friend and we got a great room with a balcony with mountain and river view which was nice. Very friendly staff and nice location but a bit expensive (approx 1700 NOK/night). Overall a good experience.
The “hotel” or imitation of a hotel was probably before a guest house before because it’s build in different parts with some platforms between the rooms. The rooms include a basic furniture, that need a immediate renovation. This hotel is without elevator, therefore if you have a heavy suitcase and you didn’t pay an extra price for a room in the same level of the entry... you are in a big problem.... The room is clean and the food is ok, but to cary a suitcase on upper floor or lower floor is a nightmare. sorry dear management of this hotel but we are in 2019...maybe you heard about elevator / lift.
We stayed at Stryn Hotel for a couple of nights in September 2018. Check in was fast when we came there in the afternoon and we got room 208. There did not seem to be that many guests in the hotel and I guess September is not the peak season. The room was standard at first sight with a brownish carpet, light yellow walls and two single beds put together. We had a room on the “wrong” side of the building so instead of getting a river view, we were looking straight into a big warehouse and parking lot. The room also contained a comfortable chair and a table, a desk and a chair and a flat screen TV on the wall. The internet was free and worked without any issues. The beds were comfortable but a bit on the soft side (even for me and I like soft beds). The bathroom was new with white and dark tiles and a great shower corner. But there were no amenities apart from a soap dispenser. For some reason there is always limited space to hang and put stuff in hotel bathrooms – I’m not sure why they don’t take that into the planning. The hairdryer in the bathroom did not seem to function well. Hotel breakfast was adequate with good fresh baked bread with various spread. There was also some cereal, fruit and some egg option. The location of the hotel is very good as you only have to walk for a couple of minutes to get to the city center. At 1600 Kroner per night (195 UD) I still find it a bit expensive as this was not an epic room. All in all, I would probably try another place if I go to Stryn again. But there are really not that many alternatives.…
