The Tulbah hotel is located in the centre of this nice village. All attractions are within walking distance. We had a very nice suite, perfectly clean, with a large bathroom and almost tropical shower. The suites gives you the opportunity to sit on your private patio. Don't expect spectacular views, you are in the middle of the village, but given...

Hi Michael many thanks for your review. I am sorry you didn't think our restaurant was good. We work very hard indeed to ensure the menu is varied and it genuinely changes weekly. We always try and incorporate local fresh produce into the menu, and have staff who travel weekly to Cape Town to study and increase their skill sets....

I found myself in Tulbagh late in the afternoon (around 6 pm) and didn't feel like the drive to Cape Town. I called the hotel and was pleasantly surprised to get an exquisite room with a King size bed at a very good rate that included a breakfast of my choice from the menu. The room was huge and equipped...

Seven of us from Perth toured the Western Cape and chose to stay at the hotel. We were delighted with its situation and the condition of the rooms. The food was excellent and the staff very efficient and friendly. We will recommend this hotel to friends and will stay there again.

Dear Marcellaw many thanks for your kind review. As we try to make clear on our web site, we have 8 rooms located in the main building and 8 heritage rooms located opposite the hotel in two stunning thatched heritage properties. Tulbagh is renowned for it's heritage properties including the oldest church in SA, dating from 1745. Hope to welcome...

Originally we had booked the Honeymoon Suite but it was totally destroyed by a fire one week before arrival. Instead we were rebooked into the Obiqua Suite, a beautiful, quaint historic room but with all modern amenities and big comfy bed. And I loved the very comfortable, spacious shower in the beautiful, large bathroom. Nice and tasty breakfast a la...

I am afraid your review is disingenuous at best. You booked the least expensive room, a Fynbos room, with shower only. Your issue with the shower being in the same area as the bed, was treated with respect. The general manager, who I employ to manage our staff, properties and make policy decisions was consulted. She generously followed our mantra...

On a mini honeymoon with my wife, we had an awesome experience at the restaurant, the staff on duty all greeted us with a big smile, were attentive and more than happy to assist with any of our questions or requests. The Tulbagh is centrally-located and conveniently placed to explore the town with its historic Church Street and many other attractions and amenities. The main hotel building dates from 1859 & offers a range of contemporary-styled luxurious rooms. The Winterhoek Manor(1813) and the Toll House(1809), opposite the hotel, are two of the heritage properties in Church Street, offering charming period rooms. Individual décor and fine cotton linen adorning four poster beds. Chandeliers on yellowwood beamed ceilings. Our Honeymoon Suite is the jewel in our crown. Crafted from the old wagon shed, this suite oozes romantic charm. Open thatch, two fireplaces, bath and shower for two. There are three pool areas, free Wi-Fi throughout and an in-house beauty therapist. All areas have air conditioning and there are cosy wood-burning fires for winter evenings.
