Twas weeks before Christmas but, up early and bright, the Crake family were stirring, the kids high as kites. Excitement bubbling! What will we see? Will it be magical and super christmassy? Will we meet Santa?, his reindeer and elves too? Will the day be full of lots of things to see and to do? Will there be music? Will there be dancing and singing? Will we hear those magic sleigh bells ringing? Even with all these expectations, all our children's hopes and dreams, came true right before our eyes on this very day it seems. Every minute, every second, nothing but laughter. A day full of Christmas joy and happy ever after! So thank you and Merry Christmas to one and to all At the 2022 Believe event at Hardwick Hall
Just went for Sunday lunch and it was lovely. Great relaxing atmosphere, polite attentive staff and servers wearing white gloves. Immaculate tables and great food. We had Turkey and Lamb both really good quality but the mint sauce was amazing . Nice selection of starters and deserts.
Room and grounds/area stunning. Let down slightly due to cleanliness of the bathroom and cobwebs and dust in the room. Breakfast plates dirty and under cooked sausage. Views across the lake beautiful. Very organised having to book a time slot for evening meal. Very welcoming at reception.
Attended a wedding here and booked a room for the evening. All staff were excellent, the room was really lovely. Large comfy bed and great pillows and a massive bathroom with a good shower. Lovely views across to the lake. Breakfast was excellent. All in all a perfect stay.
What an excellent hotel. Price was good for normal hotel room, but theirs are almost suites. Excellent staff, and good meals at reasonable prices. Evening walk around the lake in the huge grounds is highly recommended. Cant wait until we visit the north east again, and stay here
We went to ‘An Audience with Paul Gascoigne’ and stayed on a room only basis. We stayed in room 417. It was quite dark and only had 3 small high windows. Only one bath towel and hand towel left in the room. We asked for another towel and it was brought to us straight away. We couldn’t get any hot water from the sink or the shower, so I was glad it was only a one night stay. The grout in the shower needs a really good clean/bleach. We We had a dinner at the event which was beef and vegetables and an apple crumble tart. This was tasty and served hot.
We visited today for Sunday lunch with family for my husbands mothers birthday. The dinning room was beautiful, lovely decor and chandeliers. There was a lovely choice of starters, mains and desserts. The food was lovely and the service was professional and very friendly and all in the most beautiful surroundings. My mother in law mentioned she was born at the hotel and a lovely lady took her to view the room she was born in. This was so special for her and such a kind thing to do. Thank you for making our day memorable for all the right reasons. We will definitely be back and we will recommend to family and friends . Thank you to all the amazing staff .
Had a lovely afternoon tea here with my sister. We couldn't fault the food that was served and everything was nice and fresh. Choice of fruit and herbal teas were also available and also got an option of coffee - Filter, Latte or Cappuccino. Ended up bringing a few of the little cakes home and we were given a little box to put them in. All in all a lovely afternoon.
Excellent hotel in beautiful peaceful ground. Food very good. All staff from reception, waiters and waitresses and cleaners all pleasant happy and welcoming. Cannot wait to go back!! Brilliant birthday treat roll on next birthday - Brian
Like many of the reviews for afternoon tea, we had a very disappointing experience. Sat in a bar which had a constant stream of wedding guests traipsing passed us. Disinterested and unprofessional bar staff who sort of "served" us. Started off with us walking through the hotel from the back entrance, not one member of staff asked if we were Ok or acknowledged us at all. Were told quite rudely to "sit there" when we approached the bar to say we were booked in, were asked if we wanted tea to which we asked if it could come with the food, this was totally ignored and when we asked what sort of tea we were told well tea! or you can have coffee. Two huge pots of tea came (tea bags) ten minutes before a very poor offering of food. The sandwiches were cheap and nasty thin fillings, the cakes just sponge and buttercream offerings that all tasted the same and a bit stale. the redeeming feature were the lovely scones, but let down by mini jars of only blackcurrant jam and a small carton of clotted cream. No niceties here. We had to ask for sugar for my friend and extra milk. We also were looked at as mad when I asked for a fork for the cakes and was presented not with a pastry fork but a huge dinner fork. At no time we were given any detail of what the sandwiches or cakes were or offered any fresh tea or asked if everything was OK. Having being to other establishments recently (Slayley Hall), Lumley Castle and paying a similar price the difference in quality of food, but more noticeable the level of professionalism of staff was incomparable. Your staff need some serious training. The focus seems to be just weddings.…
