The hotel is a little dated and basic - but perfect for an overnight stop in a quiet and pretty village. We had a family room. Very large, everything worked just a but bland and no extras. Owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Restaurant and menu looked good although we did not eat there.

Lovely food at dinner. Good air con Friendly staff I wish Claire and Fredrik all the success and welcome their willingness to speak English and their genuine love of children guests. If you want immaculate hotel go to Paris and pay for it as some reviews have issues with decour. Pretty village with a few restaurants Had no problem with... More

This was our fourth or fifth visit to this hotel and it is now under new ownership. They were very friendly and chatted to us on arrival and departure and during dinner. The hotel is pet friendly and the owners have a lovely dog who is often around in reception. We had our usual room and it was large, clean... More

The hotel changed management last February and the whole thing struck us as being sadly amateurish, the restaurant is only open in the evenings from 7.30 to 9, no Sunday lunches available,. The food was ok but was generally over-salted, the sauce served with the pork tasted like Bovril with not much water added, the polenta chips served with the... More

We arrived mid afternoon and were shown to our room straight away. The room was clean but it was very bland, with no curtains and the bathroom looked like it had been altered many times over the years, with various holes in the tiles that had been filled, needless to say it was very dated. The air con was surprisingly... More

Our recent experience staying for two nights did not resemble earlier reviews which may be due to the recent change in management. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and there were strong cooking smells of fish from the hotel restaurant from mid afternoon. Wifi was intermittent unless you were standing in the driveway. The entire hotel was locked up and securely... More

Margon is a bit off the beaten track but you need to visit this restaurant/hotel. We went for Sunday lunch, there's an excellent choice of local wines and the food is beautifully presented and tastes good. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated. I'd be happy to take friends and family here. The premises are now under new management... More

We had the most amazing food at this wonderful place. I booked through the website and chose the package which included a 3 course meal in the evening. All I can say is that the food was possibly as good as some of the 1* Michelin Restaurants we have eaten in as well as being alot cheaper, The whole stay,... More

We liked this hotel so much that we booked to stay here again 12 months after our first visit. While we still enjoyed our stay we were a little disappointed with our evening meal. The hotel was full although most of the guests seemed to be with a wedding party and arrived late without eating at the hotel. As a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely logis. We had a very comfortable family room with airconditioning and wifi. There is also a wonderful pool for an afternoon or evening swim. All four of us enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant, the children especially enjoyed the desert buffet. The host and hostess were a delight and we would... More
