We stayed in the main house - important if you wish to avoid a short but steep walk through the vineyard to the house for breakfast! Rooms are plain, spotlessly clean, comfortable and quite spacious. Breakfast is good and plentiful - only cooked option was eggs (scrambled or fried) - and packed lunches were likewise good. Foodwise, my only gripe...

We stayed for a week in one of the cottages and had a wonderful time.. Quinta das Vinhas is a hotel in two parts: rooms in main hotel and cottages. They are quite distinct and offer very different experiences so it is difficult to comment on the main hotel aspect. In the cottages you get fresh bread delivered each morning...

We have just returned from a six night stay in one of the cottages and would love to return. The cottage was clean, and tidied regularly. Facilities were supplied as described. The setting is great in the vineyard with wild flowers and birds all around. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. The two main members of staff we met (Yvonne...

This great place has hidden treasures galore. We did not stay in the main building but in the white cottage at the top. With four people, we had the whole cottage to ourselves. 3 big bedroom, two en-suite bathrooms, lounge and kitchen. Yes, the walls are bare, the overall colour is white, but the whole experience is one of light...

Just returned from a week staying in this lovely little hotel which two friends and my husband and I used as a base for our walking holiday organised via Inntravel. Not a venue for those looking for luxury but for people who enjoy character and charm then this beautifully converted 17th Century farm-house set in a lovely garden surrounded by...

Wonderful location and very hospitable. Cottage or main house: Both can be recommended! Evening dinners with international guests! Hikers will find levadas en masse around! Car Drivers: Be brave! Especially if you choose a cottage you will have to pass VERY narrow roads!

Travelled with husband and 14 year old son for a short break. This is a small farm but located near to main roads for driving and within reasonable distance of towns. There is a main house plus cottages in the grounds, one of which was our accommodation. It was a very reasonable price for the quality and size. Fresh bread...

We have just returned from a week staying here at the end of February, and were delighted by the hotel. It is very peaceful, with comfortable rooms. We stayed in the main house on the ground floor, overlooking the small ( and cold) pool. It was cool in the evenings but often we were able to sit in the garden...

We stayed at the Quinta as part of a one-centre walking holiday. Although the weather could have been better, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable week in this lovely small hotel. This was in large part due to our luck of being there together with excellent companions, with whom we shared jolly evenings at the dinner table and afterwards...

Having found the location through our own research (incl. TripAdvisor) there's not really anyone to blame if your selected vacation accommodation doesn't live up to the expectation. But the cottages at Quinta da Vinhas worked really well for us. Good balance between well thought through and comfortable without being too fancy. Our 2 kids had to sleep in the main...
