I stayed here with a group of six friends whilst we cycled across from coast to coast. The rooms where perfect and very bike friendly. Excellent shower which was great after a long day riding. We ate our evening meal in the pub which was busy with a good atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent. Good service and very friendly staff.

A must visit if you are in the area especially if it's cold and damp outside. Parking is in a courtyard alongside rooms or cottages to let. Peaceful and quiet but popular wigh the locals. Good fire. A range of seating areas in good old fashioned sized rooms. Food was excellent traditional pub food. Large portions and reasonably priced. Good... More

This is my 3rd visit, had something different every time. Each occasion food lovely, but I must say the lamb cutlets I had were the best I've ever tasted. Lovely place, owners and staff very friendly and a bonus it's pet friendly. Lovely atmosphere with a open fires. Very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

Came here for lunch after visiting the Bowes museum. It is a few miles away but well worth the drive. This is a lovely old pub in a nice little village. The food was really good with very generous portions. We had haddock and chips and the fish was huge and very fresh. If you have a tastecard you can... More

This place was just perfect, the rooms were lovely, clean and spacious. The pub is welcoming and the food was delicious, I would highly recommend staying here. We were very pleased with the value for money and the log fire in the pub is always a nice touch.

we booked to stop here to break up a long drive, mainly due to it's proximity to Scotch Corner. What a lucky choice. The rooms are lovely, really comfortable with some lovely touches, nice tartan headboard and curtains with throws and fluffy cushions; bathroom is perfect with a really brilliant shower. The Inn itself is perfect, friendly people, lovely wood... More

We stayed here for one night in one of the stables conversion rooms. The hotel was refurbished in 2015 to a high standard. Our room was well decorated but although there was a mirror in the bathroom there was none in the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet. Breakfast was good with cereal and fresh fruit... More
