Excellent hotel in the middle of nowhere. Located in the middle of the Baja desert, this resort truly seems like an oasis. Hotel has several spaces such a bar with a pool table, restaurant, swimming pool, beautiful gardens, tasty food and friendly staff. Rooms are well equipped, clean and spacious. Fully recommended.. totally worth the trip

The only reason I stayed at the Mision Hotel (ex Desert Inn) was to break up the long journey from Guerrero Negro to Ensenada. It's a bit of an oasis in the desert! There's nothing else in Catavina, but I did discover there are other, less expensive places to stay (and eat) further along, in El Rosario and San Quintin....

Amazing courtyard, pool area, restaurant, bar, but our room was in an area where construction was going on and had that slightly aromatic, missing details quality to it that is common in Baja. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Loved the bathrooms, although the sink in ours didn't work. Nearby was wonderful desert vistas where we hiked. Most expensive...

Stayed for one night on route south. This is truly a lone star place with very little else nearby except the main highway. The courtyard design is well done and pleasing. The check in and check out were efficient and smooth. Wifi available by the hour but good value at 30 pesos a go! Dinner and breakfast were good and...

Traveling up Highway 1 in Baja California, we were still about 2 hours from what we thought was the nearest town with a hotel and off to the left was beautiful mission style building. It was getting dark and we didn't want to drive at night. Stopped in and got a beautiful room with a restaurant on premise. The room...

Old style Mission hotel. Great rooms. Love the windows with it's heavy duty wooden window closers. Not something you get to see. Service is great in the bar and the dining room. Food is very good and well appointed, and a nice warm atmosphere. Rooms have heat or air conditioning, so that is a big plus. Beautiful area is Catavina..with its...

I loved staying here, with the open courtyard and fountain in the middle. The pool and jacuzzi in the inner courtyard. It was very clean and the heater worked! They have wifi (you pay a minimal fee/hour of usage). The Restaurant had GOOD food, a good selection of wines. For being out in the middle of nowhere this was a...

We stopped here with our family on our way down the Baja to Cabo San Lucas. Our daughter and her husband were in their RV. They were able to park outside and we stayed at the hotel. We got there and went straight to the bar because the Seahawks were playing. They already had it on the TV. The rooms...

This is my favorite place to stay enroute to Baja Sur. The stunning views always take my breath away. The hotel is clean, the rooms spacious and the bar and restaurant provide classic Mexican fare. They are also pet friendly! Wifi is unreliable because this place is in the middle of nowhere. It's best to have cash for payment since...

If you ever drive down the baja peninsula this place will be your saving grace. It's in the middle of nowhere but has all the amenities of a mid range hotel. It gets pretty busy during the holidays and the bar gets pretty packed. The rooms are basic but in this part of baja they feel luxurious!
