Since the last time I stayed in '03 the power now seems to stay on all night (generator). For it's location it can't be beat. Yes it's on the pricey side, but look where it is. Rooms are clean and staff is great. This is nicer then the Desert Inn in Guerrero Negro and I would rank it #3 overall...

Hotel has great grounds and pool, and great location for an evening hike. The rooms are nice, well maintained. Restaurant food is OK, but not special; hovwever, amiance is good. Hotel is sort of expensive, but relative to central baja hwy 1 resting points, is better than competing hotels. Most hotels in nearby El Rosario and Guerrero Negro are simply...

I was planning on staying here, but balked when the surly clerk told me the rate was US $90 + 10% tax. I stayed across the street at a very rough, basic hotel for $25 (no tax). There is a very rustic ranch / restaurant a mile off the highway on the eastern side of town that also costs $25....

Very nice hotel in the middle of the desert, This is the only really nice hotel in Catavina. Room are very big, very clean and hotel is really nice. Is can be a bit expansive for the area: the price was $90 a night but we negiciated $70 a night when we were there. Very quiet too!

Stopped in Catavina on the way down and back up from Loreto. The rooms are large and clean and they take our medium sized dog. The restaurant is the typical menu you see at all the Desert Inns. Ate a total of one dinner and two breakfasts at the hotel. Food is decent and the service was good. The breakfasts...

I stayed in a double room on Dec 26th on our drive to Cabo San Lucas, for $90 (including tax). I think there are 3 choices in Catavina, and this hotel is the nicest, although pricey. In is no longer the La Pinta, but is called the Desert Inn like all former La Pinta hotels in Baja. It was about...

This is a beautiful hotel set in an amazing location. Our room was large, tastefully decorated and lit, with a decent bathroom. The beds were a bit hard and the quilt worn and frayed, but you certainly can't do much better for being in the middle of the desert! The food was not spectacular, but the restaurant has a nice...

Travelers to Baja who want to see some spectacular desert scenery, hike and explore cave paintings may want to use Cataviña as a base for a couple of days. La Pinta is your best choice if you are not a camper. The restaurant is good by Baja standards and the staff friendly and accomodating. There is electricity 27x7 thanks to...

We spent only one night at the Desert Inn (La Pinta) in Catavina, but the hotel more than met our expectations. The unit was spotless with great beds. The desert view from the room was breathtaking. The hotel has a restaurant on site and we ordered breakfast there before departing. The service was a bit slow, but the food was...
