What ever you do, don´t check in at Surfside Backpackers. First of all, they are very rude and try to blame you for everything they can. I checked in here and paid for 5 nights ahead. After the first night I checked out because of how dirty it is and the high volume during late evenings and nights. They definitely...

I stayed here for a few days whilst travelling. It advertises free wifi which you only receive if you review them 5 stars and is only an hours use which I think is unacceptable. The rooms were filthy, there were cockroaches on beds, all over the floor, in the bathrooms and kitchen area. There were even maggots on my bedroom...

Arrived in surfside backpackers and was welcomed by friendly helpful staff, they sorted all our check in out and gave us tips about the local area and where to go. The rooms are spacious and the atmosphere here was really good would definitely recomend this hostel.

I left Bondi Beach House because everyone was very anti social. As soon as I stepped into Surfside I felt welcomed. Everyone is so friendly and sweet and I immediately felt at home! If you wanna meet people come here 100%

I only stayed here one night but wished I could stay longer. It was a super cool an chill place. You have to be laid back to really enjoy it I think, since it is very laid back. The staff is quite nice. Viking, who works there, is great. There were some problems with me checking in because they were...

I stayed here for 2 weeks over Christmas and new year. I thought the hostel was very friendly and clean. Staff involved residents in activities and went out their way to make you feel welcome. They had lost of activities to join in from nights out to beach walks and a day at the races. They had everything you needed,...

A laidback chill place, close to the beach, plenty of places to eat and drink, busy so it's easy to meet people. Staff were really nice and helpful. Key deposit seemed a bit pricey and this is the first time I've ever had to pay for wifi, although it didn't even reach the room. Super comfortable beds which was great...

Booked on for a week, was made to feel very welcome. The staff are very knowledgeable and willing to help you with any queries. I actually extended my day for another week, I would recommend this place.

Its an average hostel in the centre of bondi. Its nothing special about it. When I was there a lot of nice people were around, so I had a good time, but I guess if this hostel is not really filled it gonna be boring, if you spend normally a lot time in the hostel. Otherwise, they have a few...

Staying in Bondi Beach

Neighbourhood Profile
Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.
