Cala Lodge was a lovely place to stay at. We drove up from Nosara and arrived before noon. Although our room wasn't ready yet, we were able to leave our luggage in the administrative office and take off to grab a bite to eat. They let us check in when we got back from lunch an hour later. All of...

Cala Lodge puts you in the cloud forest right from your room. We had big picture windows and a balcony that made our room a forest retreat. The room was comfortable and clean, had a little refrigerator, and big bathroom. The staff, especially Josie, were so helpful! She even called for tour reservations in our next destination and printed them...

The owners of Cala Lodge are a perfect delight. If you care about conservation, this is an eco friendly environment. Many rooms have little balconies; the shower was the best! Meals were very nicely presented and the dinner was a special treat.

Good service, ok breakfast to choose between classical American / continental / local A bit remote from town does not make it a drawback (transfers are as cheap as Costa rica can be) However, average cleanliness (beds) leaves us with an average feeling of the not - to - be missed Monteverde area

The lodge was clean and the room a reasonable size. No TV which was a bit of a drag when thunderstorm lasting several hours confined us to our room. There was wifi tho' The gardens are lovely and butterflies and birds are all around. The lodge only does breakfast but there are places to eat a 100 metres away so...

Loved staying at this lodge. First up, cons, wifi was a bit week and there were just a few lose things in the room, which could have easily been fixed with a screwdriver. The big plus, the staff. Really attentive, helpful staff. They helped organise transport to our next destination and booking tours. Also had a good laugh with them....

I stayed on a solo trip to Costa Rica in May 2016. It is in the most beautiful setting with a wonderful verandah for sitting and watching the view and the birds. It was memorable watching the cloud coming up the garden and enveloping the view and then dispersing. The staff were so friendly and did everything they could to...

We've stayed two nights here. Staff super friendly, breakfast rich, room clean and tidy. Not utterly large but you get to spend most of the day out anyhow. Fantastic view from room and terrace. Stunning. Priceless

Wasn't expecting much being near the Cloud Cover of Monteverde. The rooms #2 and # 4 were very small but adequate for what we wanted. The main pluses for this place it that the staff is great and extremely helpful. Went out of their way to get us guides and transportation to the park. Their breakfast was very good. Overall,...
