We found it the perfect place to do nothing at all. Don't get me wrong there is plenty to do on the hotel grounds and the local community but this is indeed a place to unwind and relax as well. Food was very good and...More
1.Room: great view of the mountains below and the Gulf of Nicoya! (When clear of course). It could get cloudy very quickly but on a clear day like we got, we could see very far.
2. Service: Front Desk service was good as well as...More
My spouse and I were to stay three nights here and we changed our stay to two nights (even losing a refund of our third night.)
First impressions were negative when at check in, we began reading its history posted on the wall. We learned...More
I highly recommend this hotel due to the incredible views from the rooms. You have a spectacular view of the mountains and valleys below and can see the lake when the sky is clear. Got to see two very nice sunsets from the balcony too....More
Enjoyed a few days in Monteverde at this hotel recently. The views are beyond compare, particularly on a clear day when you can see the Pacific Gulf. The rooms are large and sparse, but all have large decks or balconies. Get a room above the...More

I found the breakfast buffet at each hotel to be very similar. Some items you can find are "typical" Costa Rican food like rice and beans and American food like cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles and pancakes (at some places), eggs, etc. All buffets had juice, coffee, water, milk, tea and fruits like bananas, pineapple, papaya, etc. Hope you have fun!

Yes there are hair dryers. The buffet breakfast has fresh fruits of all kinds, different flavors of yogurt, eggs, sausage, jalapeño poppers, rice, beans, bread for toast, etc. There is a small market that has everything you'd need walking distance, about 7 minutes walk towards town. A very large supermarket is a 3 minute, $3 taxi ride away.
