Family with adult daughter planned birthday stop here. Night walk with tarantula bats birds and more. Followed with memorable dinner at Italian restaurant near by. Attentive service included birthday dessert with candle! Great staff at both places. Good coffee nearby. Will definitely return and recommend. Basic lodging with hair dryer and hot shower.

We spent the last two nights of our time in Costa Rica at this gem near the Reserva Biologica Bosque Nuboso. The staff were very helpful. The room was clean, ample and affordable. The grounds were very large with many trails weaving around the hills and slopes in that area, well groomed too, obviously raked from time to time. Lots...

I took my 14-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter to El Bosque for a week, and we all three loved it! The property is lovely. The rooms are basic--just beds, desk, and bathroom--but perfectly adequate and comfortable. The guys at the front desk were helpful. They called us taxis and even ordered us pizza a couple of times. We enjoyed our...

We spent three nights at Hotel El Bosque. We chose this place because of room rates & the reviews. It was DIFFERENT for sure.. Needs A LOT of updating but the employees were very helpful & kind. The rooms were clean & there was a really good Italian restaurant, a coffee shop & a bakery near the hotel. They serve...

Hi Melissa, Thanks for your feedback. As you mention, our rates are significantly lower than our competition. Our rooms are certainly simple, however, they provide a very good price/quality ratio. In that perspective, would you please share your feedback on specific areas where we can improve? (info@hotelelbosquecr.com) (Again, considering our rates :) Cheers, Daniel Lalinde

This was a perfect place for us. From the first moment of check-in at the front desk until we checked out of El Bosque, Josh and Joshua, both went out of their way to help us plan our stay in Monteverde. We only had two days in the area, and we wanted to experience it all. Josh immediately made reservations...

We recently stayed at Hotel El Bosque for two nights and it was great. The hotel itself is basic, but there was hot water and a bed and a quite night. The real gem of this place is the property itself! We enjoyed the night walk, and also walked the trails on the property during the day to a beautiful...

My family and I stayed for 3 nights in December. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. One of the guys showed us to our room, and then since it was dark and raining, he led us to the nearby Italian restaurant where we enjoyed a very good meal. Our room had a refrigerator, and the shower worked. The...

Hi Vickie, Thanks for your feedback. We don't have A/C because we are Ecofriendly. But we are installing big windows that you can open for the fresh air to run. Your specific room has not been installed with them yet but will soon have them. Will keep you posted :) Cheers, Daniel Lalinde

We spent three nights at El Bosque and had a great time. The kid manning the front desk when we got there was extremely helpful to us, helping us find out information for non-hotel-related reservations. Their internet was great near the office and we were able to skype home with ease. The room was very spacious, the shower huge, and...

Our family of 4 stayed at El Bosque December 28th-30th, 2016. While the hotel itself is off the beaten path, it is very close to one of the top restaurants in the area and a bakery/restaurant as well. We loved the location because it was set in the forest a bit. The owners at desk were very pleasant- easy to...

Hi Z424, Thanks for your feedback. We piloted a new water pressure system this past Dec but it ended up breaking down some of the pipes... So we had to put that project on hold until the current high season is over but I sure aim to bring this topic again in May 2017. The idea is to have exc...

We stayed for a night and as enthusiastic bird & animal viewers mainly selected the hotel for the attractive forest area directly on the property as detailed in our guide book. We had checked in and then were rather shocked to be told that after 4:45 pm the forests on the property are reserved for external companies offering expensive night...

Hi Richard, Thanks for your honest feedback. Apologies for the issue with the WiFi. There are only four rooms in the hotel currectly without WiFi, and the provider is looking into this. Will get back to you when this is done. All other 21 rooms not only have a very steady WiFi but it's the fastest one in the area...
