Four of stayed at this hotel and we all thought that it was great. The 2 brothers at the front desk (Joshua and Daniel) were very helpful with suggestions of what to do and made all of our bookings. The layout of the hotel had cabin like rooms side by side. It feels like you are in a cabin in...

We stayed at Hotel El Bosque four nights and had a relaxing and peaceful time. A review said it was like 'scout camp'. We have plenty of experience with scout camps, and Hotel El Bosque went way beyond my expectations. Our room was clean, well maintained, quiet and comfortable. The sink only had cold water, but water in the showers...

Don't expect luxury at this very basic hotel. The most that can be said for it is that it appeared clean and the breakfast was good. On the downside, there are limitations. My group occupied 7 rooms, 2 of the rooms had showers where the water pressure was not great enough to rinse shampoo from your hair. in my room...

Thanks William. The price given to your group was fair and it reflected the simplicity of our hotel rooms :) It's always good to remember that our strength is our own private reserve, 23 acres of forest, quietness and lots of nature :) Cheers, Daniel Lalinde

If you're looking for an upscale hotel, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a quaint little lodge, for a family with the nicest people, stay here. We had booked this location because of it's proximity to the cloud forest. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, we were unable to continue on to the cloud forest, and...

I really liked the setting of Hotel el Bosque, it's very relaxing and great for seeing birds right on your doorstep. It's also just a quick 5 minute walk from the children's eternal rainforest which has some very nice self guided trails which are cool to do once you have been to Monteverde reserve. There are easy to get to...

It's important to note that if you're looking for a hotel to lounge around at all day with upscale amenities, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxed place to stay that provides basic needs, this place is perfect. We are active travelers and were visiting Monteverde in order to go to all...

We loved our stay here. Our room was simple but clean and comfortable. Great access to Monteverde and Curi Concha. Nice breakfast. Very helpful staff. Nice grounds. Close to a great bakery, store, and a couple of great dinner spots.

We stayed with our 2 children who loved the big open grassy area to run around and play. The general manager, Daniel, was a HUGE help in answering our questions, arranging transportation both to and from Monteverde, calling taxis for us and having great local tips and advice.

In addition to all of the perks of being in the forest there are some awesome small businesses where you can get healthy, local foods, artesian goods and do yoga within 5 minutes walk. Walking to Santa Elena is 20-30 minutes, big hike up the hill back or a cab is $4-5 usd. Lots of hiking trails and view points...

This is a great place to stay in Monteverde. Our room was very clean, and very spacious. We stayed in a family room, and we had a fridge too. The staff speaks english at check-in and check-out, the free wifi is good and the breakfast is delicious!
