Our family of 4 was booked this hotel as part of an itinerary package. Location in town was nice. Hotel itself is very lacking. The grounds layout is terrible. The front desk and dining area is in a separate building which is a long distance (approx. 100 yards) from closest main lodging. The walk is a steep decline/ incline to...

This was the worst hotel we stayed at on our tour of Costa Rica. The bedrooms are huge, I suppose they have to be cause the beds are massive! The bathroom was small, with nowhere to put your stuff and while under a hot shower it suddenly went to cold !! The meals were edible, but to get to them...

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour of Costa Rica. We were in the best lodges at the top with fantastic views. Those in lodges below us would have had no view. The rooms are huge with decent bathrooms, There is no air con, but to be honest it was quite chilly anyway. We had no...

The layout of this hotel is very interesting. We had a room in the 500's, which required us to drive up this huge hill to get there. The map provided at front desk was useless. No roads or landmarks. We had to walk to the room, and then backtrack on foot in order to find the road that takes you...

What a weird place. We stayed here 2 nights, on a 7 night tour of central and northern Costa Rica. The best thing that can be said about the Heliconia is its proximity to the amazing Monteverde cloud forest. Otherwise it's hard to pull out some positives..... In decent weather it has a great view from the chalet-style buildings, strung...

Staying at this hotel was awful from start to finish. The bed linen in the rooms... dirty with marks all over them and they did not smell fresh, washed or at all clean, they smelt slept in. There were mosquito's everywhere in the room and bathroom. There was no air conditioning so this made it worse, also the windows had...

We stayed here during an overnight Monteverde excursion all 17 of us. We checked in at the place where you eat which I can only assume is the main reception before being taken to another building where our sleeping quarters were which was a short bus ride away & then were told we would be picked up in two hours...

A beautiful setting in Monteverde. Incredible views from the balcony of the rolling landscape. That's as long as you don't go into one of the rooms. Swiss chalet style feel from the late 1700's. Huge rooms. Uncomfortable beds with dirty linen. We were unlucky enough that the light above our bed didn't switch off. When we tried to switch it...

I wish we knew of the transportation service earlier. If you have any physical incapacity or limitation, BE CAREFUL! The multiple buildings are located in an steep hill. You can reach by car, BUT still you may have steps or ramps to climb onto your room. No AC but this place is located up in the mountains. Our problem was...

Not even simple cornflakes for the kids. Empty hot tub altough on site it was specified as if there are numerous spread around. The room is not comfy to spent time...
