We had 1 night here in a campervan on a tour of the South Island. It's very busy, mainly with local people here for their summer hols. There was a bit of a mix up with our spot so had to be allocated another one. The toilet block is very basic. There were a couple of large groups playing loud...

The Alexandra Holiday Park is ideally located so close to the town that you can walk or ride your bike to it. Plus the par is huge so it would take you a day or two to explore it already. How awesome is that?!

Six of us stayed in the Tourist Flat over the weekend and could not fault the accommodation. Electreic blankets on the beds, good heating, clean tidy accommodation all round. Reasonable price per person - we will definately be going back. We do not want or expect 5 star accommodation and were more than happy with what we received at Alex...

Alexandra Holiday Park is my favourite holiday park in the south island as I have been going there most of my life. Its good old fashioned camping the way it should be. There is always plenty of choice as to where to camp and the location is lovely. Its like staying in a little town by the river.

Service was shocking! We could not believe how rudely we were treated by the older woman upon arrival and when rebooking site. As if we were putting them out of their way to be served. Walking slowly up to you and sighing and being very negative.Oh my god WE are paying customers and it says on website warm welcome what...

Not a great experience. Booked 2 bedrooms but turned out to be 1 room with bunks outside the bathroom/toilet door in the wide hallway. The cleaning was really terrible. River is awesome and Guy running shop is a real character. Camp could really do with some modernization, wouldn't stay again

Even allowing for the fact that a holiday park doesn't exactly offer boutique luxury accommodation, our experience in staying in the self-contained cabins was disappointing. We booked a two-bedroom unit so we had somewhere to put the porta-cot for our 9-month old daughter, only to find on arrival that the second bedroom was in fact a glorified hallway to access...

We stayed here for 1 night on a powered site because the other holiday park in Alexandra and the one in Cromwell was fully booked. This is a really old and bad maintained holiday park. Feels like we went 50 years back in time. Not nice to stay! The showers and toilets (all concrete and metal, looks like a jail)...

The cabins were absolutely filthy. Staff was very uninviting, especially the older lady and gentleman. Toilets were far below an expected standard. Couldn't leave the camping ground after 10:30 in a vehicle which is highly inconvenient. All in all a terrible experience.
