The check-in was a hassle. I was asked to wait a “moment” while they checked the room. 40 minutes later I still hadn’t been contacted so I approached the desk and the room was suddenly ready. I felt the booking was a bit deceptive. It made it seem that every room is a hut style room over the water. Once we checked in we quickly realized we were staying in an apartment building not a hut which was disappointing. The bathroom was pretty dirty and the room was not good not great. Closet door was broken and WiFi was unreliable. Over all it was just not the experience I was expecting. The location was great and the view was nice. Very good fire dancing show at night. The food that we experienced was very good and the people were friendly.

We had booked the three rooms for my daughter's birthday and pre-ordered cake. The cake was never delivered and the reception told that there was miscommunication between department. They assured us refund will be provided after we check out into our account. The money refund is still pending. In email communication, each department continues to point to other department for refund. Can management look into it and provide us the fund? The resort is not vegetarian friendly. Amit

We booked a 3-bedroom villa (room no. 620). The first night, there were power blackouts every 30 minutes from 1am+ until morning. We could not sleep and had to get up every 30 minutes at least 7 times to switch the electricity again. The lobby did not pick up a couple of our calls, though to their credit, they did send someone to investigate when they picked up. However, they could not find the cause or solution until the end. The last power blackout, they could not come anymore as it started to rain and perhaps there was nothing else they could do. Upon complaining in the morning, they could only move us to another unit next door (room no. 622) and upgrade our room the next time we visit (not sure if we will, based on this experience). While there was no problem with the electricity in the new unit, the floor was very sticky, the windows were dirty that we could not get a clear view outside and the TV remote controllers were not working. In short, we swapped a good unit with power blackouts for a bad unit with electricity. A cleaner came that night when we called to clean the balcony, which was one good thing. Nevertheless, we felt shortchanged. At the 5-start price tag per night, the least we can expect is a clean, working hotel room. We practically lost one night due to the continuous power blackouts, but we did not get compensated in any meaningful way. We were also not happy with the Kids Club. Everything is chargeable, except for some Lego blocks and colouring papers/pencils that we could have brought from home ourselves. Taking away all the chargeable activities including the inflatable floating castle, what is left in the Kids Club is just an empty space for playing with Lego blocks and colouring. Again, for a 5-star hotel, I am sure we all expect a little bit more.…

Booked a staycation trip for 2D1N, paid for extras for balloon decorations to surprise my fiancé, but there was nothing in the room, only after 30mins when I go back to the receptionist manager, they told me that they checked me in the wrong room. So we had to take our stuff and travel to our actual room at 3pm with the hot sun above our head. The package we booked from Avani official website had a voucher of RM40 credit to spent inside the resort. Turns out the voucher is only available to spent on activities, not redeemable in the restaurants, which is strange because when I check in the receptionist did not specified any restrictions on redeeming the coupon. I walked back to the reception (Yes, again) and the only answer I got after 20mins of waiting is they don't do the RM40 credit voucher anymore, doesn't matter what you booked for on the website, they just DON'T have that anymore, nothing can be done by them and it's not their fault that the website is not updated. So if you are going to book a room with them, good luck getting what you asked for. Overall environment and atmosphere is very enjoyable, room is clean and tidy, besides the terrible front desk experience, everything else is quite nice. The buggy drivers and the mini bus driver(transit from lobby to carpark outside) are very polite and nice. Dinner at Sepoi-Sepoi restaurant is decent (Pizza not recommended), breakfast at Bila-Bila restaurant is wonderful(huge variety of foods). …

you need to request for a room that is closer to the pool area so that you can walk there without waiting for buggy service. you can enjoy the pool even when you having your breakfast. so it is convenient to let your kids play beside while you enjoy your meal.
