I would recommend this place when visiting Ludlow. We booked but there seemed to be a good flow of people and the food was very nice. The team were organised and had our food out in good time, to a good quality and a competitive price.

Just arrived home after having spent our silver wedding anniversary at the Clive with 4 friends and we feel we've been thoroughly spoiled! The bedrooms were fabulous and the beds sooo comfortable. The evening meal was excellent so the entire experience was fantastic. We've got to say though that what made the difference was the standard of attention we had...

We stayed 2 nights here, had a bar lunch which was really good. the rooms were comfortable as was the bed but would have enjoyed a second pillow. The only downside was that the rooms were on the ground floor and very warm even though the heating was off which necessitated the windows being open. Outside the window was a...

Had lunch here with friends this week; interesting choice of different rooms in which to eat; fairly unadventurous menu, enthusiastic service; choice of wine by the glass good; felt it rather lacked ambience

We decided to combine an afternoon at the races with a trip to Ludlow/ Shrewsbury and chose The Clive for its proximity to the racecourse and Food Centre. The room was spacious and comfortable, though the bed could have been wider. We had asked for a walk in shower but there are none. The first night we were too hot...

Wrong Champagne, wrong wine (twice) took so long to serve wine the food was finished. When asked for an apology the waiter looked me in the eye and told me it wasn't his fault. Food was 'Harvester' standard and when asked where the advertised stuffing was a single tiny ball of overcooked paxo was produced (presumably for 3 to share)....

Stayed at the Clive on business and had a lovely meal in the bar, good room, and delicious breakfast. Staff went out of their way to help me - even drove me into Ludlow as I could not get a taxi in the morning.

The size and general facilities and cleanliness of the room was excellent, however it was too warm to our liking with no obvious way to regulate it unless one were to leave the windows open. No a good thing at night.

A gentile ambiance with a rustic Inn feel greets the diner at this quaint establishment. A simple menu provides a varied choice of quality dishes that provides the customer with a range of local foods, cooked and presented to perfection. The service was calm, quiet and efficient and the atmosphere is perfect for dinner or just a quiet drink or...

We visited as part of a birthday celebration as a group of 4. The food was very good and well presented. The service was good. We would visit again but probably more for a special occasion than as a regular dining spot
