Dearborn, Michigan, is home to the Ford Motor Company, a legacy that has left its mark on the city. Here it is possible to take a tour of the famous Rouge Factory, a manufacturing plant so large that it once had its own fire and police departments. Dearborn is also home to The Henry Ford Museum, a massive complex that includes Greenfield Village, featuring 83 authentic historic buildings. The halls of the museum are packed with famous vehicles, including JFK's limo and the Oscar Weinermobile.

The largest island along Brazil's coast and, literally, a “beautiful island,” Ilhabela offers visitors almost 40 kilometres of pristine beaches and a tropical island's worth of hiking trails, waterfalls and even a nascent party scene. At 207 kilometres from the city of São Paulo, Ilhabela can get crowded, so try to get your beach time in during the work week.

This big resort—the largest on Gran Canaria—was developed in the 1960s specifically as a tourist area. And all types of tourists have found it.
