The city of wine is not just a museum...and it is not even a simple building with a slightly bizarre architectural style...it is rather an experience to live in the world of vines and wine. You will conclude the visit with a tasting and the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the city. In short, a unique experience to live.

Interactive format of the visit: very practical, rich in information and completely independent. The activities are diverse around wine and above all the supports are multiple and in several forms. We had a great time at the permanent exhibition. Afterwards you can have a drink (free tasting) on the 8th floor: magnificent view of the city. To do again. Allow at least 2 hours. Little extra: very welcoming and friendly staff. And a shop that is worth the detour (just to see!)

This is a treasure! Lots of variety in the exhibits to suit different interests. We really enjoyed the ‘fly-over’ of wine regions across the world as well as the videos from wine makers in different regions explaining the unique factors (geography, climate, wine techniques) contributing to their wines. The complimentary tasting on the top floor gave a wide variety of choices - some quite unique - which was much appreciated. We could easily have spent more time, and would come back again another time if opportunity presents.

I went during the Carnival holidays with two teenagers and I was a little afraid that they wouldn't like a wine museum... But the museum is very well thought out for all age groups, it's extremely dynamic, there are games, film screenings very well done, experiences and various environments very well achieved. Furthermore, the building has unmissable architecture. You can't go to Bordeaux without seeing the wine museum!

Had a great time in the museum today. We went on a Monday during off season and it was not crowded at all. I can’t imagine what it would be like during the peak of summer… I don’t know if even try as I think it would be highly frustrating. Today however, was great. Staff friendly and informative, time to go to all of the exhibitions without crowds - and I learned a lot. Really enjoyed our time!!

Really enjoyed our time at this modern, interactive museum of wine. Each of the themed areas was informative and entertaining covering a wide range of wine topics. There is a lot to cover if you visit each of the areas so suggest you get there early. Very good value for money.

Site to recommend. Exceptional building, cellar to visit with wines from around the world and exceptional wines, Attentive and very friendly staff; Don't forget to go up to the 8th floor to taste 1 glass of wine that you have chosen yourself or, if necessary, advised by the sommelier.

Seriously blown away. The technology was flawless, interactive, artistic and engaging. We took our 8 year old and 10 year and they LOVED it. So did we and my husband is a non drinker. So engaging with fun facts and amazing technology to show case everything. Wow.

We spent hours in here going around learning many facts about grapes and wines. Top floor view was great and you get to choose which wine you wanted to try too. I really liked the one they suggested for me but it wasn't available at the airport so am now on a quest to find it in U.K :) I do wish they highlight also my country Malta in their screen where one can find vineyards and winemakers.

As an Scottish girl with zero prior knowledge of wine, visiting La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux was an eye-opening and enriching experience. The interactive exhibits and knowledgeable staff guided me through the world of wine in an accessible and engaging way. Now, I leave with newfound appreciation and understanding, making this journey truly unforgettable.
