- Lisa WWichita Falls, Texas1,176 contributionsMajesticThis is easily the most beautiful cathedral I have ever seen. We actually took the guided tour, but you could easily stay for hours looking at everything. The stained glass windows, the organ, and everything is just so amazing. This is definitely a must see if you are in Prague.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 October 2023
- gk-lommelLommel, Belgium387 contributionsOut of this worldI have seen some magnificent cathedrals but this must be the best one very. The stained glass windows are complete works of art, each and every one of them telling a story. Absolutely amazing the workmanship in every single aspect of the building.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 October 2023
- Berke AyrancıoğluGraz, Austria703 contributionsOne of the most famous landmarks, in Prague CastleOne of the most important and beautiful landmarks in Prague. A great building of the gothic architecture located in Prague Castle. We tried to visit the castle on a late november saturday but learned that the closing hours have changed. Then we visited the next morning, sunday, but there was a ceremony so, tourist were not allowed. I would clearly suggest visiting the cathedral but mind the day and hour.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 December 2023
- Joyce JLiverpool, United Kingdom1,190 contributionsA beautiful architectural cathedralWe could see the cathedral from various locations around Prague and decided to take a tram there. Easy to get there via the tram network we hadn't realised that it was also Prague Castle Yes you do have to pay to get in but the basic ticket included 3 other entrances to other parts including St George's Basilica & the castle. It was a bit chaotic getting tickets there as large queues & there are lots you can add to it including audio equipment, guided tours, access to the tower, licence to take photos so it can work out quite expensive. We chose the basic entry fee which can be used over 2 days but only 1 entrance to each location. You can see the cathedral from the entrance to the grounds but it's only when you get through the archway that the size hits you. The cathedral is stunning, yes it was quite busy but everyone seemed very respectful and moved around quietly. Beautiful stained glass windows throughout lots of very old private burial. areas. We really enjoy the peace and tranquility of a church or cathedral even though we are not religious we still live the history and architecture. You are able to walk around the interior and exterior of the cathedral which gives you the perspective of the size & grandeur. Definitely worth a visitVisited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 December 2023
- Barbara1407Enfield, United Kingdom106 contributionsWonderful stained glass, bitterly cold. This is an amazing Cathedral but what was outstanding for me was the stained glass windows. I've visited many Cathedrals, mostly in UK but also abroad but I have never seen stained glass anywhere which is as wonderful as this, nor so much of it. I don't know whether we were just unlucky on the day but it was freezing cold inside the Cathedral - it was a cold day but we were dressed for it and hadn't been cold outside! Maybe the heating had failed but there was nothing to say so? Maybe it's always freezing inside? But the stained glass made up for being cold! Also climbed the tower, great views, well worth it.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 December 2023
- Ezra BHowick, New Zealand414 contributionsA must see in PragueEven if you have seen many cathedrals, you don't want to miss this important landmark in Prague. A large cathedral with a beautiful interior and lots of information inside. It can get crowded so definitely try to go early in the day. Your ticket also grants entry into the Prague Castle and other locations, but the cathedral is certainly the highlight of them all.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 December 2023
- TommoMelbourne, Australia56,950 contributionsGreat views from the towerThe Saint Vitus Cathedral located in the Prague Castle grounds is a Catholic cathedral in Prague, and the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. Until 1997,it was dedicated only to Saint Vitus. It is of Gothic architecture, and is the largest church in the country. The cathedral contains the tombs of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors. Do pay the admission fee to go to the top of the tower to see some awesome panaromic views.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 February 2024

- annminkyUnited States3,937 contributionsHoly Steps! The cold, snowy weather won’t stop me from visiting Prague. This is my 5th time to visit the city and 1st time to visit the Cathedral. My brother and sister in law told me to keep walking past the cathedral and not to look back yet. They asked me to stop and turn around. Wow! Spectacular sight. I was amazed how huge and impressive this cathedral was. My sister in law and I climbed the south tower. I think it was 288 spiral steps. The view from the top was jaw dropping. Such a beautiful city. Loved every moment I was there.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 March 2024
