Bengoh Dam is located in Kuching near the Borneo Highlands. Sarawak Jurassic Park is around 50 kilometres away and takes about an hour and a half to drive to. The Bengoh Dam project flooded the majority of the surrounding mountain area, as its final purpose was to supply water to the Kuching people. It is noted that Bengoh Dam is not a hydropower project: the nearest hydropower project is in Sri Aman, in Batang Ai.
