Probably the best urban park in America. It was nice to see so many people out, yet the vibe still feel calm. There were a ton of people out strolling with their dogs, as it was a nice day. Unless you plan to spend all day, you won't walk around the entire park in one visit. Many trails, and we saw people boating, playing baseball, and soccer. Nice reflecting pools as well to pitstop at. Despite the large crowds, it felt like the park was neverending, and had space for everyone. Bring your own snacks unless you're prepared to dish out $30+. The park is also kept pretty clean, which is a feat in itself. I'd come back again just to leisurely lounge.

With a group of friends on a beautiful day in April. Walkers: 3 of us love to walk and meandered for a couple of hours through spots you can't get to on wheels (the Ramble, etc.). Almost 6 miles of walking. :) It was beautiful. The cherry trees and flowers were in bloom and there were performers sprinkled throughout. Non-walkers: 7 took pedi-cab tours. They paid $40 each for an hour+ tour with pickup / drop off at Hotel Edison. Feel free to bargain down to ~ half of what is originally offered. Pay in cash. They had a great time, saw the highlights and got good pictures.

Central Park is definitely worth a visit when visiting New York. It does fall lend itself to being one of the city's most famous attractions, but it is worth it to escape some of the hustle and bustle of the city itself. We visited in December/January and it was lovely to stroll around the park in the fresh, crisp air. There are plenty of people but due to it's vast size and numerous activities there is no element of it that is considered "too busy". Stroll through the park, rent a bicycle, or take a horse drawn carriage tour around to view the various sites such as Strawberry Fields, Bow Bridge or Bethesda Terrace. It’s an amazing place to walk around and explore.

Central Park is a must visit oasis in the middle of bustling New York City. Perfect for relaxing, exercising, or exploring, there’s something for everyone, carriage rides, a zoo, boat rentals, and even self-guided tours with QR codes. Plenty of restrooms and seating make it convenient, though snacks and drinks can be pricey, so bringing your own is smart. The park is clean, safe during the day, and full of friendly dogs and playful squirrels. Don't miss grabbing a fresh fruit cup for $5—it’s a treat! A great spot to unwind or enjoy a slice of nature in the city.

This is an oasis right in the middle of bustling New York City. Covering a landscaped area of 843 acres, it is a marvel and must see for the visitor to the city. It was a grey, wintry day in the early afternoon that we went. The lake had frozen solid. Despite fallen snow on the paths, there were plenty of people, varied ages, out to enjoy this unique oasis. Little ones were having fun, in strollers, holding adult hands or even running ahead on their own. Hats, coats, gloves and scarves were all de rigueur for the weather, inclement as it was. Central Park Boathouse was open and inviting, in case one fancied a hot drink or victuals. New York’s Central Park is reputed to be one of the most visited sights in the US, whatever the season. On visiting this place one can understand why it’s so popular. Located smack in the middle of Manhattan, and yet once you’re there, it feels so calm and serene, a semblance of being far remote from a big city.

We strolled a few hours in Central Park during our stay in New York, the park is very large and wooded, and so as I say in the title, this contrasts sharply with the city located only a few meters away. The weather was nice, the ride was very pleasant and we were able to meet street artists of all kinds, newlyweds, and very many not at all fierce squirrels who make their show. There are many things to see in Central Park, very scattered, it would take a day to see everything, but I still think it is essential to make a jump.

Trail Series, Part 30 Fore•sight The ability to foresee; the act of looking forward; a view of the future. I can’t claim to know the details of the conversations taking place in the mid-1800’s about the future of NYC, but it is clear to me that at least some of those voices demonstrated incredible foresight. While some proposed that public grounds be constructed in order to establish the city’s international reputation as being commensurate with that of London or Paris, others understood that a rapidly expanding populace would benefit from an escape from the congestion of city life, even if for just an afternoon. And thus, Central Park was planned and created. I once heard these 843 acres described as covering “an irregular terrain”, which I find a creative illustration of the rolling hills throughout and consistent mixture of paved, unpaved, and uneven surfaces. This, however, should not discourage those with mobility issues from setting out for this NYC gem as the myriad of paved paths are extensive and widely accessible. Opened in 1859, it is the first landscaped public park in the United States, welcomes 42 million visitors annually, and requires more than 300 employees to maintain to it. If your goal is to cover as many uninterrupted miles during your workout as possible, you’ll be pleased to learn that the interior paths within the park are entirely paved and provide clearly delineated and separate lanes for walkers, runners, and cyclists. Now should that create within you an implicit faith that your safety is assured? Not hardly. Be sure to keep your head on a swivel ‘cuz this is New York City baby and it stops (let alone slows down) for no one! And that’s…Henry’s Take. #centralpark

Central Park is not just a park; it is one of New York’s most iconic landmarks and an essential part of the city’s soul. Spread over 843 acres of lush landscape, this urban oasis offers a breeze from the city’s hectic life and an opportunity to experience nature in the middle of the metropolitan area. Nature and Landscape As you enter Central Park, you are immediately met by an impressive mix of forests, lakes, meadows and even a small mountain peak. The design of the park, created by landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, is thoughtful and artistic, with paths sliding through beautiful landscapes. From the peaceful Bethesda Terrace with its impressive fountains to the picturesque Bow Bridge, it is a perfect place for a relaxing walk or a romantic date. Activities and Attractions Central Park offers a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages. You can rent bikes or horses, take a quiet boat trip on The Lake, or just enjoy a picnic on one of the many lawns. For families there are playgrounds, zoos, and in the summer months there are often events such as concerts and movie shows in the park. The park is also home to several well-known attractions, including Central Park Zoo, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (located on the edge of the park) and Strawberry Fields, a memorial to John Lennon. Each of these places offers unique experiences and are worth a visit. Culture and Community Central Park is also a cultural hub, where local artists, musicians and performers often set up shows. There’s always something going on, from theatre plays to music and dance performances. The park is a popular place for both locals and tourists, creating a lively and varied atmosphere. Practical Aspects Visiting Central Park is easy, with several entrances and associated transportation options. There are also a number of toilets, cafes and food tables in the park, so it's easy to spend an entire day there without having to leave the area. Although the park can get busy on weekends, it’s always possible to find a quiet corner, especially if you’re exploring the more remote paths. It is recommended to bring a camera, as there are many possibilities for fantastic photos, whether you’re photographing the beautiful flowers, the amazing skyline rising over the trees, or the lively scenes of people enjoying the park. Conclusion Central Park is an inevitable part of the New York experience. It offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and activities that appeal to everyone. Whether you are looking for a place for relaxation, recreation, or artistic inspiration, Central Park will not disappoint. It is a green oasis where you can escape the noise of the city and experience a small part of nature in the heart of the city. A day in Central Park will be sure to enrich your visit to New York City and leave you with memories for a lifetime.

Beautiful park where nature is the master. Ideal for long walks among squirrels. If you have any peanuts with you the squirrels will come over to eat. Inside the park you will find a cute castle to visit with a view overlooking the lake. Possibility to rent boats and travel the large lake in the heart of the park. There's also a puppet house but when I went it was closed. Park maintained very well. Clean but I recommend entering during the day because in the evening it is poorly lit thus becoming an unsafe place.

Central Park is a green oasis in the heart of New York City. It impresses with its vastness, variety of natural zones, and architectural features. Beautiful walking paths, cozy ponds, and stunning views of the city create an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. However, due to the large number of tourists and locals, it can sometimes be hard to find quiet spots. Despite this, the park is definitely worth visiting, especially if you enjoy walking outdoors surrounded by nature without leaving the city.
