We often rescue owls that have suffered injuries as a result of being struck by cars on the side of the road while they were hunting mice that were eating food thrown out of cars. This Barred Owl lost an eye and will live here the rest of his life. - Picture of North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre, Vancouver Island

We love teaching groups about wildlife and environmental issues. This is a live owl presentation in our amazing Learning Centre.
One of the most rewarding experiences at the Centre is releasing an animal back into the wild where they belong.
Meet Igor, one of our resident Turkey Vultures. Igor came to us with wing injuries and cannot survive in the wild. He will stay with us at the Centre. He and his buddy Vladmir are favorites!
Every year we rehabilitate bear cubs until they can be released back into the wild.
