The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
This street is the street to do, it stretches for ever, just crammed from one end to the other with every retail outlet you could need, during your stay in Toronto, it is never too far from where you are staying, due to the layout of the downtown-area.
Right now, Sept 2018, the Yonge Eglinton intersection must be, by far, the worst in Toronto. Construction of the underground LRT line crosses the Yonge subway line here plus there is ongoing construction of two condos at the corner. This means both Yonge and Eglinton are reduced to one lane each in both directions and pedestrians are forced to use...
This is one of Toronto's most beautiful gardens and connects to the ravine system which is prevalent throughout the city. It is a bit out of the way, being up near Lawrence Station, but the effort is worth it for an end-of-day stroll.
Money well spent! Richard created a tour that was both Informative and active, and he was easy to contact before our visit. He created a custom tour that took us in and around the market and walked us around the old town visiting bank vaults, churches, alleyways and more! All the time filling us with the stories and history of...
Healthwinds is my Go-to Spa for Therapeutic Massage, Facials, Mani-Pedis. The staff are terrific - friendly yet professional, the setting very clean and comfortable, beautiful teas and infused waters, relaxing music and scents. Always a pleasure!
We have been coming here for years and we love it. We always seem to have the Giovanni pizza to start which is amazing. Then we have the Penza which is also really good. The Bologna or meat sauce is also really good. If you're not full their chocolate cake is good too!
I would definitely recommend it.
We were meeting a number of family members in Toronto. La Vecchia was chosen by one of the locals. Our meals were all very good, but I did find my portion to be on the smaller size.
All in all it was a very good place to eat and visit.
Staff were attentive and prompt.
Would like to return for...
We were in room 1007 and there was no air conditioning in the room. Someone else posted and complained about this 3 weeks prior in the same room. Called the front desk and the air conditioning is shut off as the heat is turned on. Suggested I open the window to the noisy Eglington traffic! I like my room cool...
