Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
Take the funicular up to the top and look out over Paris before entering this stunning Basilica, maybe we were lucky because it was February and evening time but we wandered around without too many people and were able to spend time appreciating the beauty and the workmanship, quite humbling.
What a wonder place , as you step back in time and get lost in the history. It’s well set out and has so much information. Loved the use hand held guided information systems. It’s a place well worth a visit.
I really liked seeing all the different tombstones. I found it quite fascinating. And I thought it was an extra treat to see the cats every so often. They certainly weren't friendly, but they're still really cute. And there's something really fun and ominous about seeing the cats surrounded by the tombstones.
It's not easy to find, but it's worth the effort. It's just one big room, but I found it more 'digestible' than larger galleries, because it wasn't too busy, and it provided excellent information about the pieces in French and English. I learned a lot. I was surprised to see that you can buy Dali originals in the shop. The...
Very good quality and price not so high, compared to the other creperies in the neighborhood! Very nice formulas for tourist but both crepes and galettes are so so so delicious, indeed the ingredients are very good as well!
We ate at the restaurant on a Saturday night and when we arrived at our booked time all tables were full however the restaurant manager was very kind and offered us a free glass of champagne each - we only needed to wait around 5 minutes for a table to become available.
Before ordering our waiter spoke excellent English and...
Toook my husband and 14 year old daughter after checking reviews on Tripadvisor. Absolutely superb meal, daughter got to sample frogs legs and escargot for the first time and loved them. All food was prepared very well with beautiful flavours. We were well looked after by the two friendly waiters and would recommend to anyone. We had popped down the...
The restaurant is small, the menu is limited, but the quality is incredible! With a group of six people, we basically sampled all the dishes on the menu and enjoyed them tremendously. Especially recommend Tartare de Roquefort for entree, canard & filet for main course, and Crêpe à l'orange for dessert.
I felt like I was stepping into the movie Amelie. Decorated in bright colors with large beautiful windows, the hotel is quite comfortable, and is super close to the cafe from Amelie. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The little courtyard is adorable, and the staff very kindly lent us plates and silverware for an impromptu picnic at one of...
Great spot, with unique room with the needed things. Was a little room for running and bicycling as well, so I could stay in shape, but with everything being up and down in the area that solved a lot of that part as well. Great location to have dinner at, fantastic beef.
All the staff members we dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful, the location was perfect, next to all the cafes and bistros and food markets whilst close to two metro stations. The room was great for what we needed too. Perfect hotel for a short city break.

Because it was a special promotion it was affordable. Location down the mountain of Montmartre, close to metro, places to go out or be 'the tourist'... Stylish hotel, with quiet rooms considering the location and noise outside in this area. Felt very peaceful and relaxed here. Would absolutely come back.
Just spent three very pleasant nights at this lovely hotel. Set back on a quiet-ish street it's a haven from the hustle and bustle, while being an ideal base for exploring historic Montmartre.
The welcome was warm and the check-in quick and easy. The room was very clean and quite spacious by Paris standards. The room could have done with...
