Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighbourhood.
I was really positively surprised. Nice place to walk and experience the city in a different way. Really good idea to make it like this. Nice plants, flowers, cool to see ducks in a pond there :-) We have only one problem - we couldn't find the way from Jardin de Reuilly to Vincennes, and because we didn't have the...
"Small street with bars and restaurants and lots of people in evenings"
reviewed 11 July 2017 by JanisLatvia
Went there just incidentally. I was surprised by amounts of people present. The bars and restaurants were quite occupied and many of the visitors were just staying and chatting in the street. I think that this is a good place if you are looking for night life and some adventure.

"Daily Mass Options (btwn Church and nearby Chapel)"
reviewed 15 October 2016 by GREG M
By God's grace, we stumbled upon this medieval monastery just in time for Sunday Mass. Shortly thereafter, we discovered that weekday (noontime) Masses are offered by the St Antoine pastor at a mission chapel (Chapelle de l'Agneau de Dieu) just outside Gare de Lyons (in the Place de Henri Frenay), a few blocks away. Neither the monastery Church nor the...
Chez Imogene was wonderful! I ordered the prixe fix menu and had tomato gazpacho with a small side of tuna fish salad on toast, and egg and jambon crepe as the main, and a crepe flambe with grand marnier and I ate every bite! The crepe was literaly doused with flaming grand mariner at your table and was quite a...

"Simply superb! "

Amazing food and amazing service. We had the duck and lamb as main courses which were cooked to perfection. For dessert we had the mango cheesecake and rhubarb tiramisu whose flavours were expertly balanced. Would thoroughly recommend!
Quite a small place happily spilling onto the pavement with a friendly atmosphere and interesting decor.
Absolutely excellent food. We were told that the menu changes daily to reflect the best produce available and that really shows in the high quality.
We really enjoyed it. Probably our best meal in Paris so far.
We arrived at Hotel Fabric at 9am, well before check-in. We were greeted by Claire who treated us with such warmth. We were offered the buffet and told we could go to their gym and shower after so many hours of travel. I did sit down to the buffet, which offered several options. I really enjoyed, what I think was...
We had a lovely experience at the L'Antoine. It is indeed a different kind of hotel, small, discrete and feels like a family-owned house. The facilities are new and clean, and although the street can get quite noisy at night because of the restaurants, sound proofing was adequate (we stayed in the third floor, facing the street.)
Some people have...
+ nice decorated
+ spacious rooms
+ good situated (next to the Republique metro stations with many lines and the Haut Marais)
- Long check in time.
- At breakfast there is coffee service at the your table. This can really take a while. Be patient. Because at rush hour staff can't follow.
We got our coffee after finishing our...
The room for three people is a little bit small, the space is limited, there isn't mini-bar; on the other side the bed is very confortable and the room is very silent. The staff is very kind and helpfull.
We had 2 nights here and found it to be quite a lovely hotel. The room and bathroom was very spacious and clean and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the street. (there was no road noise as the windows were double glazed). All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and were only too happy to help with key problems,...
