You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
What a collection of classic cars. If you are slightly interested in classic cars, you should definitely visit this place. I must say that I did not buy anything. These cars are way too expensive for me, but the browsing is cool enough.

What an amazing multi level shopping mall with overground and underground trains running through!
There’s also great shops for shopping and food as well as a tourist information centre on the ground floor where we got our day tours tickets.

"Well worth the time and effort"
reviewed 8 August 2018 by surbiker
We went in August and there were two tours that day in English. One at 1100, the other at 1300. There are 155 steps up the stairs to begin the tour and as many during it but it is well worth the time and effort.
Hamburger Bahnhof is a beautiful building that was only a station for a short time before being converted to an art gallery. The building itself is beautiful. However, when I visited less than half the galleries were actually open (3 spaces were open out of perhaps 8 potential spaces). This detracted massively from the experience.
There are some good pieces...
Take a five minute walk detour from Alexanderplatz, to see Block der Frauen/Block of Women, located in a very small park, in Rosenstraße, which was the site of the Old Synagogue, destroyed in World War II. The memorial represents the brave women, who successfully protested against the Nazis, for the release of their Jewish men folk, who were going to...

We went to this restaurant at lunchtime to celebrate my daughter’s wedding, there was a party of around 25 of us including children.
The food and service was excellent, with catering for all tastes and allergies. Although we were late arriving there were no apparent problems.
We were all impressed. Lots of history and atmosphere as well!
Well done to...

"Traditional and tasty food"

We had a very satisfying meal in Dicker Engel. Staff were really friendly and attending and the decoration was interesting. Simple german dishes that were tasty and very good portions. Nothing fancy however really tasty schnitzel and sausages. Would definitely visit again soon. Value for money
Large comfortable room. Very quiet even though it was less than a block away from the terminal. Walking distance to most of the major sites.
The bathroom door is made of glass as well as the glass door by the toilet. Not much privacy here. If you use the bathroom at night it lights up the whole room.
We visited this hotel together with my. It’s a huge hotel with modern interior and high tech equipments. Nice stuff and good service. We only spent our breakfast in the hotel but it was great! Worth to stay.
We were so pleased to have booked! There were so many hotels to choose from, but with advice from a friend to book in Mitte area the search was narrowed but I still didn't realise how accessable and lovely this hotel would be, especially for a very reasonable price. Our room was clean and modern, bed was very comfortable and...
We stayed for one night on our return journey and chose the hotel specifically as it was so close to the Hauptbahnhof.
On entering the lobby we were surprised to find how modern it was. Check in was quick and simple, with English speaking staff. Our room on the 2nd floor was small and basic, but very comfortable and with...
The Amano grand central hotel is a very nice & very modern design inside and out, there is a great roof top bar that has a nice chilled out vibe to it & they play great great music, The bar staff were very nice and all so helpful when asking them about places to go for night life.
