Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
great place for bathing in the summer, running, walking, people watching. Lovely sandy beach has lots of places to grab a coffee lunch or a drink, its a welcome surprise when visiting a city, you get the best of both worlds
This is the place to visit if you want to know more about Catalonia and its history.
located by the port in an old building with a wonderful cafe on the top floor.
If you are a history buff this museum also includes artifacts and films of what affected Catalonia over the last thousand years. Going back to Franco's dictatorship...

"A rather neglected station."
reviewed 3 weeks ago by TheShis
From a distance, we were certain this is a deserted station as its roof seemed to be falling apart - literally.
Getting closer to it, we noticed parts of it are fenced off, but to our surprise this turned out to be a rather central station with a pleasant interior.
Even being a local it is hard to find nice food in Barceloneta area at a reasonable price .
We just had lunch today and it was amazing. Nice tapas for sharing , nice atmosphere and really friendly staff.
We recommend: fried calamari , fried artichokes, tomato salad with garlic , navajas, bomba, huevos rotos con chorizo.
Definitely will repeat...

It’s a cozy seaside restaurant. We had been there to have lunch, and we tried the nachos and the tacos, and both were really tasty. It was pleasant to have a good lunch looking at a beautiful beach. About the treatment of the waiters, was ok. The WiFi was good as well.

We came here after reading the other reviews. We were no disappointed. Really nice pizza - just felt sorry for the other local restaurants who were struggling to get people inside whereas this restaurant were struggling to cope with the demand :)
Quick review for a lighting speed, but taste bud-caressing, lunch.
Well seasoned hands in the kitchen.
Friendly faced staff are weaving from packed table to packed table.
There are scrunched napkins on the floor and a rough and ready table awaits Beth and I as we swoop down into our seats, 30minutes before closing time.
Unfortunately I didn’t have time...
This is a lovely hotel close to the Port and within walking distance to La Rambla. Nice restaurants close by. The hotel is very clean and quite newly renovated. Breakfast was great. Staff very helpful and friendly.
The W Hotel in Barcelona is situated directly by the see and harbour with fantastic views over both.
My room was on the 16th floor and was quite spacious with the bed facing the big windows with fantastic views. The bathroom was separated from the room though glass walls and the sink was in the actual bedroom which was quite...
Hotel well located. Pleasantly surprised by the room, it was large and modern and a nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. I felt that the hotel was good value for the location. Reception staff pleasant enough.
Not fancy, but very functional hotel and very good location, for Born, Gothic Quarter, Barceloneta. Friendly front desk, spacious clean rooms, breakfast is ok. Overall, very good, reasonable price, but nothing fancy.
Arrived at the hotel early, they had the room ready in 25 minutes, superb. The room was clean and tidy. All front desk staff fantastic to deal with and appreciated my attempts at Spanish. Breakfast more than adequate . Thoroughly recommend this hotel it is also convenient for las ramblas and sights
