The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centres catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.
Poblenou is a suburb located 3 kms from central Barcelona. Two great beaches across the end of Main Street. Lots of restaurants and shops available and plenty of public buses running continuously to the La Ramblas of Barcelona
In crowded, touristy cities I love finding the locals spots where the residents are going about their lives. There are plenty of dining and retail options between Ave Diagonal and the Mediterranean Sea.
Last year when I was in Barcelona, I went to check out this museum (it was not yet built when I was in Barcelona on previous occasions). There was no special exhibition at that time, so I visited the permanent exhibitions on furniture/design, posters, etc.
This time, there was a special exhibition on Adolf Loos (with entrance fee) and some...
The cemetery is really well maintained and signposted. The iconic "Kiss of Death" statue/headstone was particularly worth seeing.
It's a very peaceful place and contains some really beautiful, if melancholic, art.
We got taken to this lovely wee cafe by our son who lives locally and it is certainly popular with locals. The food is beautifully cooked; everything is full of flavour! As has been said before, the pulled pork is delicious: tender and not swimming in sauce like so many places.
The breakfast/ brunch menu is very good; just don't...
Living in rural France where foreign cuisine is pretty much non existant, the minute we hit Barcelona we went in search of an Indian meal and found Swad. This is a real gem, it's small, has a lovely ambiance, great waiting staff, really friendly chef / owner and we enjoyed it so much we went back there with our friends...
"Reseña en inglés: A must-book while in Barcelona"
reviewed yesterday by Jimmy Z
This was a fantastic experience. The food was amazing, definitely a culinary treat and one you won't regret. If you have a dinner to plan in Barcelona, this is the place. The chef (who also manages the restaurant) crafts a personalized and incredible service for you and your party.

"Fabulous Food, Lovely Location, Super Staff!"
reviewed 1 week ago by Nisaisma
From the moment we entered, we felt comfortable and unhurried. The menu was carefully explained to us by Carmen, and with some gentle steering we made our selection. We were all really pleased with our fish and steak dishes and cooked to perfection, it was the paella that really stood out. Combined with the view of the sea, it made...
Staff friendly and helpful.
Room cleaned every day, one day we had bad sewage smell..we end up leaving the exhaust on all the time.
Airport to hotel will cost you 35 euros, we used cabyfy app. In fact we mostly end up using Taxi mostly.
Beach would take you 20 minutes walk. Grocery store near Marina metro was OK.

Already done a review, but adding my photos to help show the room. Great size suite with incredible views of the Sagrada Familia.
You get access to The Level lounge staying on the high floors with complimentary snacks and drinks from 7am-10pm. You get a private check-in at this floor too with a welcome glass of bubbly on arrival.
This hotel was booked as a part of a package so we didn’t have a choice. The hotel was clean, and the staff was very friendly. We have no complaints and would stay again if the need arises in the future.
It is super noisy... the noise didn’t bother me, but my husband is a light sleeper. With that said,...
Hotel was nice enough. Decent area. Nice street, Pablenou a few blocks away. Loads of restaurants and cafes. Glories shopping centre directly across street. Great big market centre for fresh fruit ect
Glories metro 5 mins away and it has great links to all the major city areas.
Only fault I had, was the lobby/breakfast restaurant wasn't great. You had...
While away from the city center, the hotel is located in an upscale and safe area with restaurants and shopping nearby, and close to a metro station. Also within walking distance of the sea. The staff here, as with many Melia properties, is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable, functional and modern with nice views. Not sure if The...
