Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
The most prominent building along this plaza is the iconic city hall structure. The statue in the center of the plaza contains a fountain celebrating Cybele, an ancient Greek goddess, who is being pulled by two majestic lions.
Metropolis is probably one of the most recognized and most photographed buildings in Madrid. Located along the Gran Via, this beautiful white structure is both massive and architecturally impressive. It also looks pretty spectacular at night.
Our visit to Fundacion Mapfre Recoletos was spur of the moment. We had reservations for an English speaking tour of Casa Museo Lope de Vega, but the single English speaking guide called in sick that day. We attended an excellent Lewis Hine's exhibit at the Fundacion Mapfre Recoletos in 2010, but had not viewed their permanent Miro Collection. So glad...
Not a museum in the literal sense, but an actual house/palace, furnished and decorated completely in the Romantic era. As with the majority of museums, in Spain, it is beautifully maintained and the items in each room are well documented in both Spanish and English. The entrance fee is very reasonable, considering how much there is to see and the...
This fountain is beautiful but I think the best time to see it is at night. Walk up the street first to Independence Square and see Puerta de Alcala lit up and then back down to see the fountain and cultural center bathed in lights! Just beautiful.
Very different. If you think you know everything, you are wrong at dstage. New tastes, new flavors, everything different from other experiences. Very difficult to arrange a table but it deserves the effort.

I am going to reiterate what most of the other reviews have already mentioned :-)
There is only one dish on the menu, cocido!
The food is fantastic!
Make sure you book, the day we were there it was fool and there were three of four groups that showed up looking for a table with no luck.

Service is on point n very polite. Professional yet not suffocating. Food is creative and flavoursome. The ceviche is a knockout full of flavour and spiciness. Highly recommend if you like explosions of tastes in your mouth.
A fantastic hotel with super friendly staff and beautiful rooms, restaurant, lounge and bars. Added bonus was the sugar free and gluten free cafe too! The location was spot on too, a perfect weekend away!
The Principal Madrid was a fantastic place to spend time in Madrid and exceeded all of my expectations. Location, staff, design, food, complimentary offerings, toiletries, etc. all were fantastic. They had very helpful recommendations for food/sights. Valet parking was critically helpful in the hotel's downtown location.
The Hotel Urso is a fabulous hotel! The staff was exceptional and very helpful. The rooms are clean and are decorated in a cool clean vibe. We got the breakfast included and it was worth it. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Madrid.
We spend 4 days at the Vincci The Mint and were 100% satisfied.
