The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
Does it look old to you? That's because it is, very old indeed. It dates back to the year 379 a.c.. That's what makes this Basilica special. You won't find fancy, elaborate gilded decorations in here but you'll be able to see VI century columns (that form the entrance clauster like atrium), an VIII century mosaic (abside), a X century...
Cute little side street with a small canal near the Naviglio Grande. It's not exceptional but a curiosity, as you can still see the stones where the laundry was done in the old times. All the area is worth the visit and worth a nice stroll around.
This was by far the best ice cream we tried in Milan during a long weekend away.
The flavours were incredibly fresh and well balanced, not in the least overly sweet. Despite coming only for two cones, we soon added a 500ml tub to take back as well to our order - definitely not a place to miss.

Great place that does amazing food at good prices. Cheaper than a burger and much better at the same time. Also, best part is that they have promotions offering 3 beers for 10 EUR from time to time. Check Global Brigades Milan for details.
We went here while visiting Milan for our anniversary. We loved the area it's in, which I think is called Navigli, with its canals and pretty lights. Bele could not have been better, frankly. The menu was excellent, with unusual things like pepper cheesecake with coffee ice-cream, the food exquisite and the waiting staff very personable and with very good...
This is a very popular restaurant, and for very good reason. We were not able to get in the first night (a Monday) of our stay in Milan, so we booked a table for the second night and were glad that we did so. The food was fantastic, and the staff were super. The decor was also terrific. But, most...
This hotel is located near Navigli, but we visited it only to enjoy happy hour and wow! This place was designed meticulously and I couldnt stop snapping for the gram. Great wine, great pizza, awesome place!
This is our second stay in 2018 and found this hotel and the staff just perfect Every room (we had junior and larger suites) are modern and well appointed still and sparkling water, Lavazza espresso machine with coffee, chocolates, nice toiletries are some of the perks The restaurant has improved with some new dishes of the classic Ttalian cuisine and...
